Anyone using this with shield tv? do all button work? does text input work correctly without using keyboard?

Yes. Been using it since 2016 till Now. Works great. All buttons. Kind of quirky when selecting search menu using the round directional pad on some apps like amazon video, Spotify. The keyboard does not come up unless you use the air mouse to click on search button. But do love it ultimately. Works great as it allows me to program my projector to the IR power button and have Hdmi CEC through shield for Volume.

is it convenient to type?

I find it easy to type with, using mostly my thumbs.

what is the battery life?

I don't have an exact hour amount but to be honest I've had my remote for like 9 months and have only had to charge it twice. The battery life is ridiculously good

Will this work for a mi box?

In general, this air mouse is compatible with most Android TV boxes
