Does the 20” version include a coaster/pedal brake or just a hand brake?

The bike had the hand brakes included and partially assembled. The instructions describe how to use the coaster/pedal option as well. I assembled the bike and gave it as a gift. The recipient used the hand brakes, of course, so I was unable to verify the coaster brakes perform well.
