This is a an original and exciting look at the fascinating natural world of plants. Stunning real-life photographs of flowers, fruits, seeds, leaves, and more offer a unique "eyewitness" view of the natural history of plant anatomy and growth. See the biggest flower in the world, where a seed develops, what the inside of a plant stem looks like, how a flower attracts insects, what a plant's reproductive organs look like, how a dandelion spreads its seeds, and much more. The most trusted nonfiction series on the market, Eyewitness Books provide an in-depth, comprehensive look at their subjects with a unique integration of words and pictures. Review: Perfect for the science interested grandkids! - Bought a bunch of this series for my Grandson for Christmas . . . He loves them so much, I bought the rest for his birthday . . . and his cousins love them so much I am going to have to buy the set for all my kids families. Review: Not too much, not too little. Great price. - The book was a bit thinner than I thought. (Didn't read the dimensions) It contains lots of basic information on plants, with interesting bits scattered everywhere. The pictures are clean and beautiful. The book comes with a Clip-Art CD, but doesn't even compare to actually looking inside the book. (Very low definition images.) It also comes with a nice folded-poster. Still, overall a very worthwhile buy. I also purchased the 'Insect' book as well and it rates the same. Purchased for $11.85, and got free 2-day shipping with my desertcart Student account. Great addition to our home library. 5 stars.

DK books are great and this one is no different. My son got hooked on them at school where they have a small collection. Break down of each plant and pictures are great and so easy to read.

a good book for children
It's just a book for your children, but a book for students who study botany. The pictures in the book are of high quality and I love the CD as well as the poster attached in the book.
