Lamy is My Favorite Brand and cp1 is My Favorite Lamy
I love Lamy fountain pens because the price performance ratio is so excellent. They are one of the few companies who still make a great range of Extra Fine nibs for their pens, and that is the perfect writing instrument imho. I began many years ago with their lower end products...the Safari, Al Star and Vista pens, which I loved back when I wrote a lot Using writing utensils. Now I write more digitally, so those pens don't serve me well because their ink dries up at the nib if you don't write with them every few days, When that problem arose I tried the Studio which is about twice the price of this cp1. The Studio is a an amazing pen and I love the ones I have...but for everyday writing, and for everyone in my family to use they are a bit too fragile...the nibs I mean, I live in a household of guys and I've had to replace nibs because someone picked up and began using one of the Studios and used too much force, breaking the nib. Since I have the partially gold nibs they are expensive to replace....but amazingly smooth too! That's the point at which I tried the cp1...and it has the perfect combination of features to be a long lasting very functional pen that still feels really special to write with. The nibs seem to be stronger although that probably isn't true. Maybe it's because these pens are lighter weight so the guys don't use as much force with them? I'm not sure but they've never broken one! Better yet the ink never dries out and their small profile and great styling makes them perfect for travel, for inside a purse and for literally anywhere. I've not tried the Logo but the reviews just are never as good. I have many other brands, Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman, Rotring and Pilot...but nothing compares to the Lamy's!

A really great pen for soecific needs
If you are looking for a first fountain pen, this is not it. Lamy EF nibs can be scratchy, the z26 converter is included but sucks hard (it just feels insanely cheap compared to the z24) but other than that, this pen has a lot going for it. If you have tiny hands, it's a brilliantly balanced pen. The cap has a snap post, which makes it long enough for big hands. The pen is very solidly made, very positive snap action on the cap, all metal with a comfortable ridged plastic grip (which, while thin, works because it is not tapered like the pilot metro and has great knurlings) and the cap has the same hinged clip that the lamy 2000 has, and is a standout great design. It has dimensions broadly similar to a standard ballpoint or pencil, which I quite like in this design (and I like my huge honking pens) It accepts standard lamy steel nibs (and the gold nib that is on the special edition studio, but that is not sold separately) so you can swap nibs if you dislike this EF or simply want to try another size. I have an EF, F, M, B, and 1.1 stub. This pen is my go to for testing and reviewing inks since I can easily swap nibs and only run one pen while showing 5 nib sizes. It's also a great pen for my uniform breast pocket due to the size, shape, and durability. If you want a thin pen for your shirt breast pocket or an unobtrusive thin pocket pen with a secure clip, this is great. If you are looking at a first lamy and are okay with a triangular grip, get an al-star, or if you want a rounded grip, get a studio. But this is a great supplemental pen to a rotation or if you REALLY need a pen with the dimensions of a standard pencil.

A decent pen
I have enjoyed Lamy pens-- inexpensive but high quality. They cme with EF nibs, which I like. So I decided to explore a slightly more expensive pen. The barrel is slender, which suits my relatively small hand. It has a nice modernist look. Nothing fancy. When I first received the pen the nib seemed very scratchy to me. At times it would skip, as on curves. Annoying. So I sent it back to Lamy, they give me a new nib, and all is well. But I should not have needed to do that in the first place. (And I did try various papers, including Rhodia) and inks. Problem was the nib. Much as I like Lamy, I'd say there might be some occasional QC problems. But now that the pen is fixed, all is well and I recommend this pen, especially if you have smaller hand.

A Great Pen from a Solid Maker
I own four other Lamy fountain pens ranging in price from $20 to more than $159, and this model is rapidly becoming my favorite, The ef nib, like all Lamy nibs has a bit of 'tooth." It's not silky, but on the other hand it gives an excellent sense of the "feel" of the paper. When used on quality paper like Tomoe River [ https://smile.amazon.com/Tomoe-River-Loose-Sheets-TMR-A4P-W/dp/B071YGYPDX/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=tomoe%2Bpaper&qid=1552188446&s=instant-video&sr=8-1&th=1 ] or Clairefontaine [ https://smile.amazon.com/Clairefontaine-C6120-Blank-Writing-Paper/dp/B001AQSR30/ref=pd_sbs_229_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001AQSR30&pd_rd_r=85189cbe-42e4-11e9-9df9-ff03b64505a6&pd_rd_w=mG5qb&pd_rd_wg=rPVLr&pf_rd_p=588939de-d3f8-42f1-a3d8-d556eae5797d&pf_rd_r=33QVDMG2VCQRAJSWF4KN&psc=1&refRID=33QVDMG2VCQRAJSWF4KN ] the CP1 gives an excellent writing experience. The knurled grip ring and matte anodized barrel give this reasonably light pen an easy secure grip, and the posted cap grants this very slim pen excellent balance. I suspect the CP1 is out of production now (which explains the great price), but there's no fear of obsolescence as it uses standard Lamy cartridges, and nibs (very easily changed and ranging from Extra Fine to super wide 1.9mm stubs - for calligraphy) . The case is pasteboard, but nonetheless is suitable for gifting to family & friends. It would make an excellent entrรฉ to the world of fountain pens, but is equally suitable for experienced users. As several reviewers have noted, it's pencil like size make it easy to shirt or jacket pocket - making it a fine writing instrument in busy offices. This pen includes a converter for using the pen with bottled ink. It also comes with a single proprietary ink cartridge in blue. Lamy cartridges are widely available, and Monteverde also make Lamy compatible cartridges - in several colours not available fro Lamy. Don't be surprised if your new pen has a few streaks of blue on the nib. Lamy tests every pen before it leaves the manufactory.

Best Steel Nib LAMY pen ever!!!!!!
Probably one of the best products from LAMY! At only 40 USD, you get a high quality stainless steel nib, a barrel made of brass with titanium plating and a matte black finishing, and STUNNING clip!! The nib writes wet and so smooth. This is my new favourite pen and I LOVE the minimalistic design from Gerd A Mรผller. (The person who designed this pen in 1974, also the same person who designed the LAMY 2000!) I have no complaints except the EF is little thicker than I would have liked it to but I am used to Japenese and Taiwanese nibs, so I need to get used to the western ones. I absolutely love this pen and it blew me away right when I first opened the box. The sheer quality, sleek beautiful barrel, and silver coloured Nib just makes the pen gorgeous to look at. If you are still deciding whether or not to spend the 40 dollars on this pen, GET IT!!! You will not regret this decision!!!

Meh...
Ok, so, after I read about the Lamy fountain pen hype, I end up drinking the cool-aid just to find out it isn't that great. The first thing I did was inspect the product to make sure a recieived an authentic Lamy pen, and I did, I cleaned the pen, make sure the quality Control leftovers of blue ink are gone, let it dry, and then inked it. The ink didn't come out the way it should, even for an extra fine nib, the line comes out a bit thick which it's not that weird with German pens. Anyways, after basically 24hrs of frustration I kept using the pen, and now I'm happy to say that it works well. Unfortunately, a Muji Aluminum pen with fine nib writes better (and thinner), it costs a lot less, and is just as good looking. The CP1 is quite thin (way thinner than the Muji pen), but well made, it is a solid pen, bu t not the best writing fountain pen.

4.8 excellent ergonomics for smaller hands
4.8/5.0 because itโs not a true EF nib, but this is Lamy. Easy to replace cartridges (comes with 1 blue), terrific balance, cap fit is nice, brushed aluminum clip is solid and the barrel diameter is great for someone who prints as I do. I wish there was a customizable option, but thatโs inconsequential. If youโre a recovering โdesignerโ like myself, youโll be impressed with the beautifully designed packaging. German-minimalism at its best. Safari line is nice, but for me, this CP 1 is now my go-to pen. If I could find permanent India ink for this pen it would replace the EF Indigraph pen I use for sketching (still the standard).

This is a great pen. I got it because it had the best reviews on amazon. -It writes almost instantly. -It feels like good construction (though scratches make shiny lines very easily, but it's not that noticeable) -It comes with a very good quality ink converter. It twists instead of push/pulls and it's made of either glass or very good plastic and does not leak. -The instructions are in German, but there are a lot of pictures and it's pretty straightforward. -It does say that it's extra fine point, but The tip is a finer point than I expected. It looks like ballpoint writing; just a dot. they do make interchangeable tips for it, so I will be getting that. here's the medium tip: http://www.amazon.com/Lamy-Refills-Replacement-Medium-Accessory/dp/B004DK5LU2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416066318&sr=8-1&keywords=lamy+nib+medium I can see why this has such great reviews. this is the best pen on amazon.

Excelente pluma, mala entrega
La pluma llegรณ bien, aunque viene solo envuelta en una bolsa de plรกstico. No incluye cartucho de tinta, y en lugar de EF me llegรณ una plumilla F. No la devuelvo porque aun asรญ me sirve.

Beautiful pen!
I have kaweco sports EF and medium, Twisbi eco, pilot metropolitan, moonman m2, Schaffer Agio, about 10 common and a couple next level ups and this is my favourite. Writes really well, very smooth and keeps up to fast pace. Perfectly balanced when posted and slim which is now my preference. Can use it for long periods of time without my hand cramping up. The EF nib writes the same thickness as my EF Lamy safari. Not as fine as the metropolitan or moonman fine/EF. Does not come with a converter though so pick yourself up one of those separately. Definitely recommended.

The best fountain pen in the world.
I started with Lamy Safari but this is the best fountain pen I've come across cause of several reasons. Its fairly thin enabling me make a great cursive handwriting. It has world's best feed as also nib thereby enabling a great flow of ink and writing. It has metals at appropriate places thereby ensuring a pretty long term use and a fountain pen should be like it. I must categorically mention that I've been using this pen for an year now and in course of time, I tried other ordinary fountain pen and only after I tried an ordinary fountain pen, I realised; meaning of quality. As a matter of fact, I'm addicted to cursive English writing only due to the quality of this fountain pen. I will highly recommend this quality fountain pen if you prefer a thinner pen, else Lamy Safari for about โน. 3 - 4 thousand has the same feed and nib and quality. I have a high appreciation for Lamy as a business organization for providing such great quality.
