Worked great
Worked great my old optical drive is now my external DVD drive.

This is great, so far so good. We'll see if this will last long and will update. But at this point I'm giving it a Five star. It works pretty good. Now I have a portable CD/DVD player that I can use and watch movies. Lately the laptops that they are selling now doesn't come with DVD player not it's extra that you have to pay for it. With this adapter I can use my old DVD/CD player from my old laptop. IT WORKS GREAT. Sometimes I get that double look, did not expect a raw DVD drive. 2 thumbs up for now, better stays that way. Update 08/13/2020: It's still work perfect for me. Now a couple of my friends and co-workers did the same thing with their old cd/dvd drives. Funny, one has two portable and he said don't want this to go to waste, it still works.

Perfect for your portable DVD ROM/DVD writer
Works perfectly with a DVD writer that I reclaimed from an Acer laptop computer purchased in 2010. The cable is very short as many customers have commented. You just have to position your DVD ROM carefully.

Arrived on time. Both ends Plug in solidly. DVD player is recognised. In win10 Short cable. Cable sticks out left side of drive, could MASSIVELY complicate drive mounting

A simple way to revive an old laptop CD/DVD player/writer. It's inexpensive and effective. Ensure that it matches your optical drive connection type.

Woth every penny and then some.
My Mother gave me her old laptop as a thank you for getting her new machine up and running on my day off. I bought this cable so I could connect the optical drive to mini desktop. This way we can watch the DVDs that we haven't yet converted to streaming. It was incredibly easy to plug in and it works wonderfully.

Works with Dell Optiplex SFF CD ROM
When I bought this cable, I was expecting it to give me a lot of trouble in order to make my desktop CD drive work. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it connected to my laptop without any problems. Note that the CD drive that my Dell Optiplex SFF (Small Form Factor) is similar in size to the laptop ones (0.5 inch thick). Great, now I am excited to watch some classic movies that I borrowed from the library.

Works perfectly!
I wish I had known about this years ago. I have a couple of high end laptop drives that have been sitting a a drawer for years. Now I can use them instead of having to make boot USB's.
