Great Corkscrew
You can have your fancy rabbit corkscrews, but for me, I like a simple corkscrew. This one fits the bill, and looks great too. In addition to opening wine, you can also open beer bottles. It has a bottle opener part. Mine didn't come in a fancy box, but I wasn't expecting a fancy box. It may be an option.

A copycat, but a good one that is worth the price!
Why did Laguiole not COPYRIGHT their name? So many cheap knock-offs have resulted. This one is decent....nicely made exception to the cascade of sad imitations. The genuine article is NOT, but a faithful copy, yes it is.

Can not really authenticate the origin of making, even though there is a print on the handle body. Beautiful rosewood and heavy weight, highly recommend this product!

Very poorly made.
Nice packaging, lovely classic design, however the build quality is very poor. Within a few weeks of getting this item the signature Laquiole fly broke off and then in another week or so the corkscrew became very loose. After opening about 15 bottles of wine this now too loose to use, very sad.

good for the price
not a finely made tool--the lever arm on mine is crooked so that only one side contacts the bottle rim, but it works reasonably well for the price. tip: i lubed the corkscrew's hinge and found its operation much smoother and easier.

Laguiole Forever
I bought four of these as presents for my kids and they were an immediate hit. I have had two of my own for almost 20 years and still love them after thousands of bottles of wines. These were less than 1/4 the price of the more expensive Laguioles, but are just as beautiful and work just as well.

Bought two of these and keep one in my pocket during our get togethers and they never fail me. Quality craftsmanship and easy to use. You can't go wrong, but watch your guests, they may be tempted to accidently place one in their pockets...mmmm.

Nice Corkscrew for the money
I needed an everyday waiter style corkscrew that was functional and looked nice. This corkscrew gets the job done.

Laguiole en Aubrac it is not, but an excellent copy for 1/10th the price of the real one. Half the price of the Fortnum & Mason version but the the same rosewood handle and the same heft and finish. Yes, definitely value for money and is a nice gift to your wine-loving friends.
