Amazing quality
This stuff honestly surprised me. For how cheap it is, the quality is way better than expected. The color-changing effect is the main reason I bought it, and it looks even better in person. Instead of harsh color jumps, it slowly blends between colors across the print, which makes everything look super clean and almost “painted.” Printing with it was easy—no clogging, no weird stringing, and it feeds smoothly. It behaves like normal PLA, which is a big deal because some specialty filaments can be a pain. This one just works. Another thing I noticed is how consistent it is. The diameter stays pretty accurate, which helps avoid failed prints. You don’t have to constantly babysit it, and it handles longer prints without issues. The only “downside” (if you can call it that) is that you don’t have full control over where the colors change—it depends on the length of filament used, not your model. But that’s how pretty much all rainbow filaments work, so it’s not really a flaw, just something to know.

Prints well..not so happy with the color though
I was extremely excited to try this tri-colored silk PLA out with my new printer. With Easter around the corner I've been testing out bunnies and decided to test a pair of knit textured ones. The print went very well and the bunnies look awesome as far as print and filament quality goes. Apparently I have a lot to learn about filaments, especially tri-colored silk ones. I do LOVE the sheen with the gradual color change. Its just the overall darkness of the colors I wasnt expecting. I can see a pink sheen, but no pink. Is there more pink inside?? Is there no serious pinkness because of the orientation of the filament on the spool? Am I just being a whiney pot about this whole thing? (Likely). This filament is making stellar prints and with the cool color change effects I cannot reasonably remove a star because of what is likely my own ignorance. So if you're somewhat of a newb to this type of filament or 3D printing in general, be aware that the exact colors on the spool aren't always the exact colors you will see on the print with this tri-color business. It is beautiful though. Definitely not what I expected.

Beautiful
I love this color, it works well (and as it should) with taller projects, when doing smaller projects it does give a very nice two color gradient affect Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great Price for the amount of product Clogging: While i do have clogging issues i can't blame the filament as i am still a beginner with 3D Printers and im still learning that some 3D extruders work better for certain types of filament. So like a 0.4 extruder nozzle may not work as well with a silk filament where as an 0.8 extruder may be perfect for silk filament. However I will say that this particular filament has never clogged Print quality: To be honest the print quality is all based off your 3D printer settings such as temperature and flow rate Filament quality: Seems pretty good to me, have had no issues

Really cool filament – made an articulating dragon that looks amazing!
I recently printed an articulating dragon model with the 3Dgenius Silk Rainbow PLA Filament (1.75mm), and this stuff is seriously impressive – one of the coolest filaments I've used! The silk rainbow effect is stunning: it shifts through gorgeous iridescent colors (purples, blues, greens, pinks) as the light hits it, giving the dragon a magical, almost metallic shimmer that changes depending on the angle. The silk finish is super smooth and glossy right off the printer – no visible layer lines, and it has that luxurious sheen that makes detailed models pop. My articulating dragon has all those tiny scales and joints, and the filament highlighted every curve beautifully without any stringing or blobbing. Print quality was excellent: flows consistently at standard PLA temps (around 200-210°C nozzle, 60°C bed), great bed adhesion, and minimal warping even on larger pieces. The rainbow transition is gradual and even throughout the spool, so no abrupt color jumps mid-print. It's strong enough for functional articulating parts too – the dragon moves smoothly without snapping. If you're into eye-catching prints like dragons, articulated figures, vases, or anything where you want that wow-factor shine and color play, this Silk Rainbow PLA from 3Dgenius delivers big time. Super fun to work with and the results are jaw-dropping. My new favorite for showpiece models!

Clog clog clog
Updating! After 3 days in the drier and 24 hours with damprid (decicant) it does print and fairly well. Ridiculous how much moisture was in it. And it still prints hot. Minimum of 220C. But not bad. Customer service was decent. They respond next day. Offered me a refund. Original: 4 seperate failed prints. All the same condition, clogged nozzle. I've been printing for 6 years and I've only ever had one other filament do this to me. Idc if its and old batch or what. Shouldnt have to buy a new hotend because your product jammed my extruder and burned it out. Color seemed nice for the part that managed to print. But the material has hard spots and need to print at nearly 235C which is ABS level heat. Still clogged and burned. Very happy I bought the 250g small spool and not the 28$ big spool.

Prints like a dream!
This filament is fantastic! The color-changing gradient is smooth and vibrant, and the matte finish gives prints a clean, high-end look. It feeds consistently with no tangling and prints beautifully right out of the box. Layer adhesion is solid, warping is minimal, and it works perfectly with standard FDM printers. The gradient effect really makes models pop. Great quality for the price—this filament is a must-have for eye-catching prints! 🌈🖨️

Greenish blueish - not purple maybe deep violet.
Looks great. My first attempt with silk. Seems like it works just as good as PLA. I was expecting a purple, but maybe it’s just me.

Could have been a great filament.
Great filament, printed really nice, great adhesion and strong. Be aware that it’s not in specs, meaning the diameter is over 1.7. If you have a small throat all metal hot end, this is not for you. It will get stuck. I was mad at first trying to print with my voron that has a dragon hot end. It would not feed through. As I was ready to throw it away, I decided to try with one of bowden set up and it worked amazing. Otherwise I would give it 5 for the quality print and price tag.

Do not buy from this brand
The filament is horrible, I left it on a long print and it ended up destroying the printer in my lab which I am still trying to fix it damaged the whole system entirely
