Terrific product! The powder doesn’t taste earthy like a beet, but almost sweet. I mix it with my raw cacao powder in mildly warm water every morning. Great heart and body fix.

Far better than sugary beet root chewies AND cold pressed into easy to mix powder. My stamina is noticeably stronger

This seems like a high quality product & probably a great option for many people. BUT having used it on & off for over a year, I finally traced my back & abdominal pain back to this beet juice powder when I developed kidney stones. Apparently the very high level of oxalates in beets gets super-concentrated in juice powder form (makes sense), which of course can raise oxalates in the body. My doc said when I paused this supplement, it caused an "oxalate dump", which got the formed stones or crystals moving. This happened 3 times over the course of a year - I'd pause the beet powder & then several days later get back & abdominal pain. But it wasn't until this last time that I happened to realize the relationship by looking back through my health diary/calendar & seeing the timing. Doc confirmed. Also want to note that the reason I paused each time was that I was getting hormonal swings (60 year old post-menopausal woman). Again, it took a while to be sure if the connection because I take a number of supplements, & just the course of life events can make it hard to know why we're experiencing this or that. But at this point I can say for sure that for ME, beet juice powder makes me hormonal: moody, grouchy & a little "unhinged" feeling. But I'm very hormonally sensitive so this would likely not be an issue for most people. The original reason I started taking it was for blood pressure benefits but I haven't been able to determine whether it helped or not. The clinical evidence seems very promising tho. Just be aware that if you have any kidney/oxalate issues or are hormonally sensitive, use with caution! That said, quality seems very good & pure. It has a gorgeous vibrant color & tastes fine in a smoothie.

There is something wrong with this most recent jar I received. As soon as I opened it, there was a very strong smell of something burnt, like burnt plastic. I thought maybe it was just the plastic of the jar so transferred the powder to a glass container. The stink of burnt plastic remained with the powder but the jar did not have that smell. So it is something with the beet root powder. I had a jar before this one and it was fine. No strong smell at all. The reason for one star is because I have tried repeatedly to contact Nautical Elements by phone, email as well as messaged them through Facebook and no response at all. I finally had to contact Amazon to get some help with returning this. The previous beet root powder worked great. I don't have really high blood pressure and needed it to go down just some to be adequately below the limits. It works, but I'm not drinking any of this because I have no idea what I'm drinking. I will look for another brand as the reliability of customer support with this company is not there.
