La Crosse Technology 616-1412 Projection Alarm Clock with Indoor Temperature

I had a radio alarm with projector for about 15 years, it was a good product but started making noises that wouldn't let me sleep so I decided to buy one of this ones. I have a La Crosse clock of those with an external thermometer that automatically sets the time and date and I have it for more than 10 years, so I decided to get one of this La Crosse even when some reviews were negative, I know it's a quality brand. I'm not disappointed at all, the clock is light and smaller than I thought but it's nice, it can set the format to 24 hrs that I prefer, the indoor temperature shown is pretty accurate and the humidity too. I really like the fact that you can set the brightness and even the projector and set to different angles. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Was a present and the projection light is great to use as you have little effort to see the light on the ceiling at night time.

Easy to set up and use. I like that you can dim the front screen. It would be great if you could dim the ceiling time too. It’s very bright! I like the clock otherwise and would recommend.

I have finally found a excellent projection clock I have had a few other brands and this by far is the best. Easy setup , clear and precise display. The projection display on the ceiling is clear and easy to read, and it has a lot of rotation. It is very accurate.. and is the perfect size to put a night stand table.The functions are practical and well laid out. Highly recommend.

I really like this clock. The time on the clock is easy to see. It's relatively easy to set up. The projector works great and is so convenient to see the time on the ceiling when I wake up. I highly recommend.

This is a nice clock with the key features of temperature and humidity display. You can also change the brightness on the main display (3 settings). Unfortunately, this is not tied to any schedule, so if you have a bright room in the day and a dark room at night, you may find yourself switching between modes. This is reasonably easy since the button on top controls this. It also has a projection display which a unique feature - while most projection clocks can change the orientation of the display (flip it 180 degrees), this also allows you to flip the projection "sideways" (90 degrees). So you can have the clock facing you but projecting on the ceiling that still look normal when you're laying on your back. I have not seen this feature in any other clock. Unfortunately, this feature comes at a cost - the display forms a large red "blob" around the numbers (Img 3) - the numbers are not very clear and some are actually smaller than others (img 2) - the projection cannot be dimmed and is very bright I really wanted to like this clock, it's got a nice modern aesthetic and features, but the projection is a deal-breaker for me. Dimensions: 6" x 4" Display: 3" x 2" Pros: - good looking - large display - dimmer on display - 90 degrees rotation on projection Cons: - bad projection - no dimmer for the (very bright) projection Recommendation: I really cannot recommend this because the projection is so wonky

The set up is easy. Temperature and humidity are correct (I have another gadget which measures temperature and humidity, they match, so both are correct.) The main display is bright (there are 4 levels of brightness), but it is hard or impossible to read it at angle if your eyes are below the display, so you may not see it when laying in bed. At darkness projected digits are big, sharp, and red, and can be rotated 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees. You can rotate the projector around one axis. At daytime, the projected digits can be seen, but they are pale and not distracting. You cannot switch off the projector or change its brightness. It works both with and without batteries. But without batteries it doesn't keep time in case of power outage, so it is best to insert batteries. (2 AAA, not included) With batteries and without AC power, it switches off the projection, and the display becomes hard to see at light and impossible to see at darkness, to save batteries. You still can see time by pressing Light or Snooze button, then both projection and display are switched on for about 10 seconds. Batteries, according to the manual, last for more than 12 monthes. It was hard to insert batteries, I needed to apply force.

I have an older model that I've been using for 15 years. It projects onto ceiling and still works great. So when my kids wanted a clock, I trusted this brand. 4-way pivot for projection is great (just like my older model). A bright light in the bedroom while sleeping is not good and this was a big issue for me in choosing a clock (after my husband bought a clock for our son from Canadian Tire and on the dimmest of settings the light was WAY TOO bright). This clock has at least 4 settings and the night options are perfect. I DID RETURN ONE and got it replaced when the projection showed a faint second image. Customer service was great and NO ISSUES with the replacement.
