It works and makes everything light as a feather
Compact with rope already attached to the pulleys and good to go with enough rope for most peoples uses it’s good quality, sturdy and does the job well and well worth the money because I had to get 300 kg of various things up to the third floor in flats with no lift and after replacing the rope with a 75 metre long one because I had an eleven metre lift which was done with ease because of the 5-1 ratio so the 50or so kilo loads were moved swiftly and no twisted lines because I added a swivel hook to one end because of the big height Well worth the money and could easily have lifted 100 kilo loads but I have a spinal injury so it wasn’t me pulling but the wife did well !! Would definitely recommend vendor

Strength of the rope a shackles
Lifting a heavy beam with ease although the rope did on occasion ride the wheels.

Does the job
Had a 30 foot eucalyptus tree (20cm diameter trunk) come over in the last storm, had tried to lift it with heavy duty ratchett straps but just too heavy and broke a couple. Bought this block and tackle and didn’t hold out much hope for the money but physics works and I was able to pull it up bit by bit until upright. I don’t think it was even straining to do the job, the hardest bit was keeping a grip on the thin rope that come with it. With 2 people it would have been easy, however my wife just watched from the comfort of the sofa whilst I fought gale force winds and rain and very muddy garden to save her tree. Thanks for the help babe.

I Regret buying it but it can be improved.
My 3 star rating takes into account the low price. SUMMARY: "You get what you pay for" and this is very cheap for a triple block hoist. TWISTING: The 'blocks' are lightweight and flimsy. Because the rope is stiff and springy, the rope takes control of the 'blocks' and twists them around when there is no load on the hoist. That causes the rope to come off the pullies and get tangled. The rope is not 3/8th or 5/16th as conflictingly advertised, it actually measures as 7mm; too thin for comfort and too thin for those pullies. MISLEADING: Although there are 6 pullies they have roped it to use only 5 pullies and therefore a 5:1 velocity-ratio. I expect they did that to save themselves the cost of an extra shackle. FRICTION: I bought this to replace my existing 2:1 velocity-ratio hoist (which has good bearings) but this 5:1 hoist gives barely any mechanical advantage. A great deal of effort is wasted overcoming friction because the plastic pullies do not have any 'bearings'. The plastic pullies run on steel spacers on steel bolts. The resultant friction UNDER LOAD has to be multiplied by 5 or 6, depending on how many pullies you use which is why it so terribly 'inefficient' (school-boy physics). Unfortunately there is no way to lubricate it without completely dismantling the blocks. 'As bought' it is barely worth having but it IS cheap and it can be improved with a bit of time and money. UPDATE: I have installed 8mm braided rope and re-roped it to give a 6:1 velocity ratio (relocate the fixed end to a shackle on the bottom of the top block). That has completely removed the twisting problem and it is now far more comfortable to use. The effort needed has reduced very slightly (6:1 vs 5:1) but it is still far higher than it should be; friction is still very clearly a problem. I am going to have to take the blocks apart and grease them. Annoyingly, I am going to have to grease between the bolt and the spacer and between the spacer and the pullies because I have no way of knowing what is rotating on what.

Excellent piece of kit.
This enabled me to single handedly lower a heavy gun cabinet down from my loft. I wish I had thought of it earlier when I struggled to get it up there with a mate. The power of reduced mechanical effort.

Watch for twists
Rope is very 'twisty' and will jam in the pulleys.

Poor quality
Rope is not good quality and gets stuck in the mechanisms when it twists. Will need to purchase a different kind

Todo muy bien el único detalle es la soga que con el uso se tuerce un poco pero todo lo demás muy bien

Nice unit that works well. I states that a 3/8” rope will work. The rope suppled is 1/4” and works well. However, I needed the total length to go 20’ not the 8’ that is supplied. So I ordered enough 3/8” rope to do what I needed. This is easier on the hands to use. I immediately found out that it wouldn’t fit and do the job. Solution was to disassemble the pulleys and insert washers to increase the space between the pulleys. It works fine now. I couldn’t find a pulley system that would use a 3/8” rope on Amazon.

Purchased to lift my jeep hard top up. Wasn’t great but made it work with a lever lift. I won’t be using it in the spring for this purpose. But it is inexpensive and will be used for something eventually.

The pulleys have too much tolerance between the body and the line kept getting pinched. I was working with around 500lbs suspended while on a 20 ft extension ladder, I had additional areas where my material was secured in case the tackle failed. No surprise as soon as I pulled the line out it systematically cut through itself with the body of the tackle and dropped about 2 ft. Fortunately I didn’t fall to my death but what a stupid design. Chain falls are your friend. No more of this garbage again. Ever.
