My bed room is in 3rd floor, and I almost felt like i need to ask my friend to help carry the bed upstairs, but once I disassembled the packaging downstairs, it was easy to carry by myself and assemble on my own. anything that would help me being strong independent and single - I am for it!

Is is compatible with an adjustable king?

The answers to this question are all over the place from yes, to no to maybe. Let me be as clear as possible. This bed frame is NOT built/designed to work with an adjustable frame.

One of the primary reasons is the fact that the side panels come in two pieces which depend on the inner frame and wood slats to make everything secure and stable. Without that inner frame and slats you need to perform some customizations just to make it work - although you should not expect the stability of what is described in most of these reviews. The steps to customize, at least how I see it: 1) you must purchase brackets to bind the two halves of each side panel, then 2) remove the wood lip that holds the slats in place. This leaves you with a frame without anything in the middle that will allow your adjustable base to sit within the frame. The next trick is ensuring that the mattress platform of the adjustable base sits higher than the frame itself as it's highly unlikely it will completely fit _within_ the frame and even if it did fit, having the platform above the frame itself means you will not put pressure on the somewhat fragile frame you're left with after the customizations (most adjustable bases come with options to increase the leg height of the base). For us, it could work w/customizations, but without the inner frame to make the structure and stable as it was designed to be, you are left with a frame that will likely last a fraction of the time it was designed to last.
