I came to this product whilst looking for a more affordable dupe for the Then I Found You Cleansing Balm. There are about 150 Korean made cleansing balms on the market but most of them do not have an Essential Oil as the first and second ingredient. TIMY does, and after much looking, I realized that Byomas melting balm did as well. So it was obviously of high quality, almost completely natural ingredients. Olive oil is the first oil and Grape Seed is the second-exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see. The price was amazingly affordable as well, about 60% off the TIMY price, with a commensurate amount of product. Once I had purchased the balm, I was thrilled at the sensual, tactile experience of using it. It melted like a dream at my finger tips, spreading across my skin like silk; smelling delicious and removing all of my makeup on the first pass. The Balm assured my skin’s hydration but did not cause me to break out or for my t-zone to become more oily. I loved TIMY but in this economy couldn’t justify $40 for a portion of a very pedantic skin care routine. I’m thankful for my frugality because I actually like Byoma’s product better. Long story short? Buy it. If you are even looking at The Fence, go ahead and buy it. You will use it up and save money while doing so!

Velvety balm melts into an oil that rinses off cleanly and leaves my skin soft and hydrated. The scent reminds me of a spa massage. Effectively removes makeup and skincare and controls oil for hours. Unique ingredients that deep clean and leave skin feeling soft and nourished without causing breakouts. Criminally negged and underrated skincare product! The negative reviews here are concerning- this is a CLEANSER. It will remove makeup like foundation, lip stain, spf, etc but it’s not a makeup remover- DO NOT rub it into your eyes to remove your waterproof mascara! It has surfactants! It warns you that it’s an eye irritant. Get a makeup remover to take off your waterproof eye makeup, this is a skin CLEANSER. It’s also not just a pre-cleanse, it’s a stand alone cleanser that doesn’t require a second cleanse. You CAN use it that way but that’s not all it is. It’s weird that this listing says “follow with your preferred second cleanser”because that doesn’t appear on the packaging or anywhere else. It actually says everywhere else that this is your cleansing step, follow with toner, including on the -recyclable- packaging that’s big enough to read. It’s only wasteful packaging if you’re not recycling it This is a beautiful nourishing cleanser for all skin types and does not contain glycerin.

Excellent consistency and removes my sunscreen. Use as part of double cleanse. Fragrance free and one of my favorites.

The top came a little gummy and wouldn’t spread, once I took off a decent layer off the top it was decent kind of a thicker so not the easiest to rub in bottle is the container is big but the amount of product is not the best especially since I had to throw out quite a bit to get rid of the gummy top. The plus side is no irritation and the ingredient list is simple and it’s decoded so it tells you what it is good for. And if you didn’t know this is kind of like a makeup melter before you wash your face with face wash so it’s not just a face wash has a vaseline smell to it. Kind of sad because I wanted to buy other products off this brand now I’m skeptical

If you need something that melts even your most stubborn/waterproof make up off your face, this balm is it! Goes on smooth, little goes a long way. Has a very mild scent and has never irritated my sensitive skin. Leaves you feeling clean without overdrying or stripping your skin. I don’t have to immediately run an grab moisturizer. Since you only use a little, I’ve had the same tub for almost 2 months so I’d say on top of being an amazing product it’s also a great value for your money. 10/10 would recommend

I was hoping to find a more affordable alternative to Clinique’s take the day off cleansing balm but this wasn’t it. When I opened jar and first broke into the balm the top was gluey. Then it hit me… the odor. It smelled like old, dried up, rancid play dough. Is this a niche reference, yes, but that’s exactly what it smelled like. I had to check the date on the bottom and the expiration date was a year out so I proceeded with caution. I didn’t like the way it felt and all I could think about was the horrible smell. It did a decent job of removing makeup, but even after my second cleanse with my regular cleanser, I could still smell the rancid smell on my face. I could still smell it after applying all my skincare! I don’t care if this was the best at removing makeup, which it wasn’t, it’s not worth dealing with that scent! Plus, I’ve used several other balm cleansers that don’t require as much effort as this one does. It doesn’t glide on skin as smoothly as take the day off or Saturday skin’s cleansing balm. Avoid this!

You might be wondering why I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 since it does the difficult job of getting stubborn mineral sunscreen off. And that's only because it took 2-3x the recommended amount on the bottle to get it off. However, this is still the first product that i've been able to find that gets it all off. I am happy with the product. But it loses a star, because it requires much more product to be used. And therefore I will be going through this a lot quicker because of that. Having said that the price isn't crazy so i dont mind that too much. It makes my skin feel nice after use. I added this before my regular routine of the Mad Hippie cleansing milk and followed by the Mad Hippie triple c night cream and I'm face feels better than it's has in a very long time! Its a nice addition to my skincare lineup. I can totally see myself buying this product again as well as maybe exploring some of their products in the future!

I love a good balm for removing my makeup. This is definitely a good balm. it removes makeup quickly and easily. It wipes off like a dream. Most important, it does not leave behind any kind of greasy feeling. I also love the packaging, cute, colorful and I like the way it feels in my hands.

I love this balm cleanser but I do wish there was a bit more in the pot. Lasts a while though and smells lovely. Great for double cleansing and kind on skin which doesn’t feel tight or greasy even before I have done my water based cleaner.

Really impressed with this cleansing balm. It melts down makeup quickly, including foundation and eye makeup, and rinses off without leaving a greasy residue. My skin feels clean, soft and hydrated after using it. A little goes a long way too, so it should last ages. Great value for money as it lasts a while

Favourite cleanser. My daughter bought this for herself, she offered me to try it and I've never gone back. You apply to dry skin, then emulsify with water before washing off. I use with the jelly cleanser when double cleansing. I love the stuff. So much so I had to buy my daughter a new pot. I use every night and a tub seems to last ages. I can definitely say my skin tone improved after using these. I've used for several months before trying other Byoma products. This is my favourite one. The texture is quite thick and feel slightly greasy when first applied, this changes when you add the water to your skin. It washes off without a greasy feeling, just beautiful cleansed skin. Sometimes I use it on its own, sometimes I double cleanse will jelly cleanser or the milky cleanser. Great value for money!

I did my research before buying and chose Byoma for its cruelty free principles and products. This cleansing balm does a brilliant job of removing facial make-up but, sadly, wasn't great at removing mascara. I don't wear heavy eye make-up and only two light coats of rimmel superlash, which isn't waterproof. After cleansing, my skin felt super clean and smooth but the panda eyes left behind took a lot if rubbing to remove. Eventually l gave up and resorted back to my old eye remover. My eyes were blurry and runny after cleansing and l found it difficult to use my phone or watch tv until l finally rinsed them for a third time. I will continue to use this balm but on my face only and use my old faithful eye cleanser to remove my eye make-up in future.

Great cleansing balm. Good price point and lasts a while. Have repurchased multiple times.
