MÜHLE Safety Razor Blade Guard - Compatible with MÜHLE Open Comb (R41) and Closed Comb (R89) Double Edge Safety Razors

It's expensive for what it is, but if you're looking at this you are paying for some convenience. Works great for my Merkur Model 180, and makes it much easier for me to transport and store the razor.

Fits my razor perfectly. Open on one side and slides across smoothly. Protects my razor and counter from damage. Love the fact that I can set it on the counter without having to worry about my kids touching it.

Description says it fits "MÜHLE Open Comb (R41) and Closed Comb (R89)." I tried it on a variety of OTHER razors to see if it'd fit. It WILL hold a vintage Gillette Tech razor, but the case is large enough to let the Tech head rattle around (hard to keep it on). It holds the Gillette Heritage razor (found on Amazon) perfectly; it should, because the head on that razor is essentially a Muhle R89. It will NOT hold any of the vintage Twist-to-open (aka "Butterfly") Gillette razors like the 1940s Super Speed, Flare Tips, Black Handle, Black Tip, Fat Boy, or Slim. It won't accommodate a Rockwell 6S. Surprisingly, it WILL hold an open comb Wolfman Guerrilla. The cover works as advertised and holds the specific Muhle razor heads listed in the description. I gave it 5 stars because it worked as advertised, but It would have been nice if it was designed to accommodate other common razors as well.

Works fine. Grossly over priced. Couldn't have cost more than a penny a piece to make these. Would be 5 stars at $2.95

Fits my Merkur safety razor a little more loosely than I expected, but it does the job just fine. It IS a bit expensive, but considering the fact that I couldn't find anything else comparable on the market, I would say it was worth it.

When it comes to traveling this is very practical and problem solving carrying the razor and the blade with no thinking about cutting myself or damaging my belongings. Good quality and well made. A good buy for me. I recommend this.

WAY too tight (too small) on my Rockwell DE multi-gap razor… I wanted it to work for me for travel use, so I modified it a tiny bit. It is obviously thermal plastic, and since I just needed to relax the plastic a bit, heat should do that.. I forced it onto the razor to get the size right. My wife’s hair dryer didn’t have enough heat, so I tried boiling water. No joy. JUDICIOUS use of a high temperature HEAT GUN did the trick. Relaxed the safety cover perfect. It works well now.

Yes it is expensive but I think it is well worth the money. I keep my Muhle razor out on display in the bathroom and the guard looks great on it. I also have a 4 year old grandson to think about and don't want him touching a razor blade. It is extremely well made and fits my Muhle safety razor like a glove, nice and snug and safe. Can't fault it you will not be disappointed.
