I haven't really got enough space to explain how good this camera is i will try.I have installed this camera and was simply blown away with its capabilities and the simplicity of setting it up its plug and play via wifi or ether net connection you can employ either option.The camera can also follow the action rotating a full 360 degrees with a tilt feature as well moving on its own if you enable the patrol feature the video quality is also excellent and also exceptional value for money i strongly recommend this camera if you just want to feel a bit more secure.

Superb cameras. We have 5 and bought a 6th. Pros:- 1. Clear images 2. Reliable motion detection 3. Short cables can be replaced with longer ones from Amazon 4. Adjustable camera image i.e. you can turn the camera upside down and flip the image. 5. Full colour or black & white available 4. User friendly - both app and camera functions. Easily adjustable. Cons:- 1. the lead is chunky and can’t be removed if you don’t need them for outdoors connection. We only use one portion of the power lead and the other unused part has to be pinned out of sight. Not an issue for us because we use them indoors and pointing through windows. 2. Short power supply cables (replaceable). 3. The back of the memory card compartment is difficult to remove and the screws can get stuck. Be very careful when first removing them and needs replacement ones with stronger screw tops or the tops will wear down after a few turns and you’ll struggle to get the screws out. 4. Mic feedback if close to the cameras. Just make sure you’re not near when testing the mic or looking at footage.

I bought this camera not to use with the Tapo ecosystem, but actually to add to an existing IP camera security system (a Synology Security Station), and I'm pleased to say it worked out of the box. The picture quality is pretty good during the day, and night vision benefits from bright IR LED's so it's more than capable. The camera supports both wifi and ethernet, however do bear in mind the ethernet connection doesn't support PoE, so you'll need to run a seperate power cable. Helpfully, the power cable is super long for the camera, but it's unfortunate that there's no PoE support. Even if you're not using the Tapo app to control/record with it, you can easily set up the camera and hand it off to your own NVR. Pan and Tilt is a nice bonus, and works outside of the Tapo app. The camera presents excellent value for money, but loses a star for having ethernet without PoE support!

The set up is super easy and the app is darn good. The build quality is solid and the functionality is excellent. Very detailed images and it'll hold a daylight quality image long after it's dark outside. The motion detection is top notch. Very impressed so far!

Bought this to help protect my partners property! Decent enough quality and picture, has some good features like tracking and coloured night vision, particularly like being able to set a virtual threshold line across the property to trigger the camera. Excellent value for money

Have been using Tapo cameras for a while, have even bought them as presents for family! So I thought I would upgrade to this model, as it does everything I need in home security ( tracking, smart mode with QHD and alarms) Daughter installed the camera in about 30mins with absolutely no problems. ( most of the time was positioning it) So, initially I had a few software issues with this camera, but on contacting the support forum, they promptly passed my problem onto the TP-Link Technical Support team. I cannot speak highly enough of these experts, they talked me through everything, and indeed, made me feel very confident the issue would be sorted quickly with me having to do the bare minimum. The camera is well worth the money and as every other Tapo cam very easy to use. Connects easily to wireless Wi-Fi and set up is also very easy. Night vision is great, but sensitivity does need reduced when it rains. All in all I have to give this 5⭐️ , even with the initial issue. Ryan Long and the TP-Link Technical Support team are such a dedicated group, I never once regretted buying this model. IMO Best home security around in this price range, and the most dedicated support team. Another brilliant product by Tapo.

Originally bought the C225 indoor camera to keep an eye on our dog and was very impressed with the whole Tapo system. I managed to get the C520WS when they were in the sale for £59.99 and brought 3 to cover the whole outside. I fitted them with SanDisk Ultra 512gb memory cards that should cover about 25 day when constantly recording 24/7 before overwriting themself. They all connected to my WiFi with no issues but I did lower the quality of 1 down to 720p as the signal was struggling at times when set to 2K. There are so many setting to cover all needs and did take a day to work out so you don’t get too many false alerts, blushes blowing in the wind and stuff like that. I did also find that rain at night sets off the motion sensor and the camera tries to track it and I turned off motion sensor but left on person, pets and vehicle tracking and it works perfect. There is a great feature where to can set different viewing angles and save them so rather then adjusting the camera each time you can just press a saved position and it will move to it quickly. The camera does a great job tracking and following people and vehicles when they come into shot and when they leave the camera will return to its original position before it started tracking. You might pay a little more for the Tapo C520WS but the whole system just works perfectly and with it being under the well known TP Link brand you know it’s going to be good quality. 1 bit of advice I found out that was useful, when you watch a recording and you want to more forward or back slightly you can pinch the timeline with 2 fingers and expand it to make it bigger which makes it easier to make small movements back and forth.

I have been using it for more than a month now. Its a very good and perfect product. Since it's 360 degree rotation, it works exactly, the motion sensors and person detection is just awesome, clarity is amazing. Video quality is superb. I would definitely recommend this product. I took the cloud storage (additionalpurchase) but things are pretty smooth for me. Easy installation and easy to use app. 5 stars from my experience so far. I even traveled out of town and I was able to access and see the live video even when traveling.

Adopero da un paio di mesi un'economica telecamera Tapo TP40, acquistata su piazza a 30 euro, che funziona benone malgrado la sua grande semplicità e la filosofia "entry-level". Avevo però bisogno di una maggiore risoluzione video ed ho così optato per l'acquisto della TP520WS. Le due telecamere sono esteticamente identiche, e con l'App Tapo aggiungere l'unità è stato davvero semplice. Purtroppo, però, NON ho notato grandi miglioramenti nei dettagli video; almeno non tali da giustificare un prezzo quasi tre volte superiore; l'assenza dello zoom ottico - come sulla TP40 - si fa sentire e come: ingrandendo sullo schermo dello smartphone i dettagli continuano ad essere molto, molto sfuocati. Ho installato la telecamera a 5 metri d'altezza sotto ad uno spiovente, e a 12 metri di distanza con luce diurna una targa auto NON è leggibile. Bene la visione / registrazione notturna con luce infrarossa, che però mantiene i limiti già descritti. Rispetto alle TAPO più economiche è presente solo qualche aggiunta nel firmware a bordo con poche funzioni aggiuntive che non adopero neppure. La 520 è anche immediatamente riconoscibile per le due minuscole antenne montate sui lati esternamente al guscio che fanno sperare in un migliore collegamento alla rete WI-Fi 2,5GHz. Peccato per la scelta di adoperare alimentatori diversi in base al tipo di telecamera: la TP40 funziona a 12V, questa a 9V (però non potendo rifare il cablaggio continuo ad adoperare l'alimentatore a 12V senza alcun problema, almeno per adesso). Restano praticamente invariati tutti i pro e i contro delle telecamere Tapo. PRO: - Economica. - Semplice da utilizzare e da installare. - Ottima App. - Semplice processo di registrazione su SD in locale. - Pratica (dovesse servire) funzione di interfono. CONTRO: - Assenza dello zoom ottico. - Ingrandendo molto l'immagine sullo schermo dello smartphone (doppio tap, o con le due dita) si perde quasi tutta la risoluzione, scendendo a valori addirittura inferiori al segnale video composito (CVBS). - Assenza di un software per PC/MAC, che ne limita l'utilizzo ai soli smartphone. - Collegamento WI-FI non sempre stabile ed affidabile, anche con livelli di segnale elevati - Il grado di protezione IP66 mi lascia molto in dubbio, è decisamente meglio montare la telecamera in posizione riparata. - Se i parametri WI-FI cambiano (SSID, Password, eccetera) per riconfigurare la telecamera occorre un "hard-reset" eseguibile SOLO con un pulsantino cui si accede smontando un coperchietto sull'unità (se la telecamera è fissata in posizione elevata, magari a 10 metri di altezza, può essere un problema fastidioso). - Qualità audio scarsa. - Assenza di uniformità nell' alimentazione: 9V anziché 12V Devo purtroppo segnalare una spedizione Amazon estremamente lenta ed inefficiente: ordine effettuato il 4 novembre, consegnato il 15 novembre: forse un corriere a cavallo avrebbe impiegato meno tempo...
