Is somewhere in this backpack for storing damp items?

Of course!!! You can store toothbrush, small damp towels or other damp items in the dry/wet separation pocket. Very convenient for daily travel use!!

Handle - is it supposed to lock when it’s at it’s extended length? The piece with the stick handle keeps falling & doesn’t lock in place..

How to take the shoulder strap out and use the backpack？

You can open the back pocket of the backpack and take out the shoulder strap, connect the metal hook on the shoulder strap with the metal ring of the backpack, and adjust the appropriate length to carry the backpack.
