So this device is lightweight. It's for my mom who is 96 years old. Love the simple buttons. We'll see how she wears them out since she likes to press the buttons a lot.She likes to channel surf. Now, programming, it took 5 minutes, it's easier to read the instructions than play the video. If you just think simple point the two remotes together, let the lights blink, do their magic, program it's done. Be cautious to read the instructions precisely. And you should have no problems. Watch those blinking lights, and when they're not blinking. Match whatever button you want to the other one.It should be no problem. The only reason it shouldn't work if there's no infrared LED to send a signal out on the original remote. Which was stated in the instructions.

This worked great. I was able to program the channel buttons to work the cable box, but the volume buttons to work the TV. This circumvents so much confusion for my elderly mother!

Bought this remote for my elderly father who was having problems with the TV remote. Try to set up the new remote but can't do it, the right side works fine but the left side won't work at all. Returned the remote and received a second one. same problem. Called the manufacturer at their 800 number ( that ends up being in England), to see if they could send me a remote that was tested by them that works. The answer was that they could not ship the item from England. So was this coming from China???? Liked the remote a lot but unfortunately, none worked.

Slightly tricky to program. Trick is to make sure you are holding the new remote and original remote very close while programing. Power button can only be programed for one device. Either the TV or the cable box. Extra button labeled F can be used as an additional power button for the second device. I programed the power button for the TV and the F button for the cable box. Much simpler for elderly. No extra buttons for them to change the input or anything else to screw things up.

It was a bit challenging to set up But it did program itself from the other remote.

I bought this remote to use instead of the large, heavy cumbersome remote that came with my audio component. I just wanted to have something cheap and small that would control volume, source, muting and display dimming. This unit is perfect for the task. It is light weight, buttons are large, it is silver so it is easy to locate in the room. The training process is a breeze to accomplish and it learned the desired commands from the original remote. Another reason I picked this remote is because the keys are not lighted (really not necessary). This should prolong battery replacement. I use rechargeable cells. A year later update. Still on the same batteries that came with the remote and i use it every day.

Easy to program. I set it up so my 98 year old MIL couldn't mess up her TV. Now she's happy with her 1 channel (her choice), volume, and on/off. No more calls saying the TV isn't working BECAUSE SHE PRESSED THE WRONG BUTTON ON HER OTHER REMOTE! Worth it weight in gold!

Ich habe diese Fernbedienung für meinen 90-jährigen Vater gekauft. Dank der Videoanleitung ließ sie sich schnell und einfach programmieren und funktioniert einwandfrei. Jetzt kann mein Vater wieder selbstständig die TV-Kanäle wechseln, was ihm sehr wichtig ist. Wie lange hält kann momentan nicht bewerten aber ich hoffe länger. 👍

Haven’t been able to get the power on/off feature to work. The unit is very cheaply made (not worth $40 in my opinion) . The up volume button works, the down works intermittently I’ll be asking for a refund.
