No they are just for plastic pipe the wire around the cable will destroy the blade

Hello, I wanted to cut 1" to 2" ABS pool pipe in the UK but found this cutter to be less than ideal, it will deform the shape even in the warmest conditions so I was unable to push and glue any fittings. Brilliant tool I now have to use to cut roots and small branches in my way.
