Can I use natural dish soap and hot water on these or will that dry the wood?

I do use soap and water for these spreaders. After about a year, they are still holding up. I hasten to add, as with most wooden utencils getting regular use...they will eventually go by the wayside. But for the cost of these spreaders, excellent value. I love 'em
