Needs to be inside a junction box.
Seems to work ok so far. Price is a bit high.

Expensive but works perfectly
I have had to replace the connectors in my landscape lighting setup a few times due to inevitable corrosion from cheap connectors. I don't have buried lines, but they are covered with mulch/cedar chips. I decided to try WAGO connectors this time that I filled with Ox-Gard and encased in the Gelbox. They are exposed to the elements minus direct sunlight. So far there have been zero problems. One thing I will stress is that the gel is less a gel/grease and more like a tough putty. Colder weather will affect its workability, and it may be nearly impossible to close the box around the connectors. I had to use channel lock pliers to assist me. After the first one, I warmed the rest up first. That helped a lot, but they were still difficult to close by hand. The gel does push out of the opening a little, so it looks like it seals completely. If I ever have to replace a light or some wiring again, I will definitely pay extra for the Gelbox to seal the connectors.

Pricey But Work Great!
Used these in size large for my exterior low voltage wiring on my deck stairs. Make sure you get the right size for your project. These are easy to use and watertight. Took one star off because they are pricey.

A bit pricey but works well.
It does its job well of offering a genuine water tight seal. Great for outdoor connections (of course still in a code compliant box) to protect connections is wet, hot, or sandy locations.

Wago FTW
Had to wire up an exterior light fixture with smart bulbs (so always powered) and the fixture wasn't quite covered by the overhang of the roof. Decided to go overkill and use this for the hot and neutral joins with some Wago 221s. These felt secure, solid, and easy to use. Expensive, but I'd bet these crush the alternatives in terms of performance or longevity. Likely unnecessary in many applications but hey, why not.

Hard to close!
I just finished replacing most of the wiring in my yard lighting. Insulation piercing connectors, which allow water intrusion, and poorly done connections created many intermittent connections. New Wago connectors and these gel boxes should keep the system working for years to come…hopefully… I’m knocking off a star because these are very difficult to close completely. One side will snap, but then the other side stays slightly open. Even using pliers, I couldn’t get them to securely latch. I think the connectors are completely encapsulated, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Picture to follow…

Wago Gel Boxes have become a staple in my campervan build. I use them anywhere I need to protect a connection – under seats, behind panels, in the shower area, even tucked into awkward corners where moisture or condensation could be a problem. Paired with Wago 221 connectors, they make for a tidy, secure, and water-resistant solution that gives me real peace of mind. No messing around with heat shrink or silicone – just click it shut and the gel does the rest. They’re compact enough to hide away but tough enough to handle life on the road. For anyone wiring up a campervan, they’re a no-brainer.
