For a bamboo cutting board this is not wearing as fast as I thought it may. It seems to be holding up pretty good. I like the thickness and the size I bought. Looks nice too. I took the time to get some real cutting board wax and have treated it a couple times before I used it and it really did a nice job of sealing it and repels water while still being able to wash it.The juice grooves are a little shallow thought12/29/24 UPDATE 1yr +:This board is still wearing great. I bought this size specifically to make some mods so that it sits on the counter beside the sink and doubles to put wet dishes to dry them after washing. Plus being over-sized I can do larger batched of food without having to clear and scraps flicked to the sink.Created an over-hang to the edge of the sink and drilled drain holes in the juice groove to let excess water drain and couple rubber feet on one side to give slight tilt to the sink and some air space underneath.The con is that I cannot now rotate the board, so the normal cutting location is generally same area. But I still do not notice any significant wear. Some fine cut marks yes, but not the bellied out area like my earlier all maple harder board. Thinking that this board will last quite a while and if the fine cut marks become too prevalent then I intend to use orbital disk sander to cleanup and seal it again.I now only treat with cutting board wax once a month to keep it sealed and wipe off excess water after dishes or cutting.

I haven’t actually cut on this board, yet, because I bought it to place on top of our toaster oven to protect the cabinetry above it from heat damage. This board fits perfectly and is thick enough to do the job. I also put a silicone drying mat between the oven and the board, so hopefully that will provide double protection for my cabinets and also prevent the board from warping or cracking from the heat. Honestly, the board is thick enough that out might even be safe without the silicone mat, but I already had the mat, so I might as well keep using it.If you’re buying it as a cutting board, it looks nice, like the photos, and I don’t see anything that would make me not buy it if I saw it at a brick and mortar store. It is thick and sturdy. I just don’t know how quickly you’ll get knife marks in the wood, since that seems inevitable with these kinds of boards.

We love everything about the BALEINE Large Bamboo, 1” Extra Thick, Cutting Board . . . very well made, very sturdy, beautiful finish, almost too nice to be a mere cutting board. I use this every day, only for veggies, washing it with a spray of white vinegar, rinsing and letting it dry. The board is starting to crack in the center. I don't want oil on it getting into my food, so I guess that's why it cracked?

I’ve owned other bamboo cutting boards but this one seems to be the best quality so far. It’s very well designed. I can use one side for chopping and it also serves as a large tray or charcuterie board thanks to the well-placed recessed handles. Wipes down easily and so far no splinters.

This is very nice midsized cutting board. It seems very solid and I like it a lot. It’s not cheap and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna crack in half anytime soon. I’m very pleased.

Had to replace my previous wood cutting board as it was getting mold on the sides (from me standing it up to dry on the counter) and wife said we needed replacement. This one is very thick and seems to be holding up great so far. The smooth sides make it seem like water won't stay there and thus create mold. Hope the bamboo doesn't dry and crack prematurely as is usually the case with bamboo boards.

This is the perfect size and weight of a cutting board for everyday chopping and cutting, and is easy to clean. So far, no warping or cracking anywhere.
