For years, I feared voiding the warranty on my air filter from buying off-brand replacement filters, but when price of the name brand filters started climbing, I bit the bullet and bought these. And I'm glad I did! If you hadn't told me these were any different, I'd have never guessed. Save your money!

The filter system was received and immediately installed. This was a first time use of a used unit, so initial installation was a bit fumbly but went together fine. Initial impressions were that the filters were performing as expected, but had a slight odor. The odor wasn't noxious to me, but i can certainly see how others might find it unpleasant. It was reminiscent of a new car, or a new pair of running shoes. I did have an air quality meter running at initial setup, and it did show mildly increased levels of formaldehyde. Much larger increases of volatile organic compounds (TVOC) were measured, which could have been the odor I was detecting. The TVOCs remained elevated for a period of nearly two weeks, and then began gradually tapering off. At the three and one half week mark, the TVOCs have completely subsided and the system now has no detectable odor. It seems that the filters need to run approximately a month before the TVOCs are completely gone. Now that's happened, the filters are working well to remove pollen from our living areas. This was a good purchase - expensive, but good.

I have replaced all 3 filters at different times and these work as expected. I read some reviews that the filter does not fit. I thought this was the case when I was changing my hepa filter. I realized that on the previous replacement of the PreMax filter, which is "shorter" than the hepa but they look similar, I had mistakenly replaced the hepa filter with the new prefilter so I was essentially running two prefilters with the charcoal filter. On this most recent purchase, I needed to replace both the hepa and the premax. I started by taking out the old prefilter from the top which is the spot for the hepa and replace with new premax then proceeded to swap the prefilter at the bottom (which I thought was the hepa) with the new hepa. When I realized that the new hepa would not fit at the bottom I thought I would need to return. I quickly sorted myself out and realized my mistakes and installed in the correct positions. I am always amazed at how much dirt and dust get collected in the prefilter at the bottom having changed them out 3 times now. Very happy to have it on the filter than in my body and does keep the house just a bit cleaner.

The filters are significantly lower cost than from iQair but the quality is about the same so this lowers the operating costs for this wonderful air filtration system to manageable levels

These do fit the iqair but there is a noticeable difference in quality. I guess you do get what you pay for and these may be overpriced
