My mechanic has installed this into my Audi A3 2014 Apple Carplay system & used Reverse light as power, camera stays on when cars not in reverse why?

dear customer, sorry to hear that, but please do not worry about it, let us help. for this issue, please kindly connect the camera in this way: 1. generally speaking, please connect its red power cable to 12V+, and black cable to 12V-. and then please connect its RCA video output cable to camera input cable from your autoradio, if not working, then please use video input instead from your radio instead. 2. please make sure your reversing control cable( from your radio unit) is connected to the positive of the reversing light or reverse gear. :-) so then when you put your car to reverse, your radio will switch to camera mode automatically. :-) thanks
