Great HDD!
Got this to replace a HDD that had gone in my NAS, this slotted in and the array rebuilt fine with no issues. Its a disk for a NAS and it works what more is there to say. Price I thought was a little steeper so maybe shop around.

Loud noise on initial startup
Was quite difficult to install in the My Cloud Home Duo as the trays required a high degree on manual dexterity, and was very noisy when the initial data transfer was taking place which in my case took some 15 hrs but quite thereafter. Bear in mind I had to do this twice so that the data could be transferred from the old disks to the new disks. So a very noisy 2 days in all. Other than that no problems.

Simple medium performance NAS HDDs
I have 4 of these 4 TB disks running in my server for a total uptime of about 10 years. No had any problems with them, they are quiet and energy efficient. I even have another one still in the packaging sitting on top of my NAS as a spare incase one of them fails. Before the 4 TB I ran 2 TB and before that 1 TB (WD greens but basically the same) - never had a problem with any of them. Hard disks are a fading technology but a RAID array of these is still excellent value for money and my access speeds are limited by the GBit ethernet so SSDs would not give any performance advantage but would cost several times more.

Hard drive good. Customer service bad.
I have no issue with the hard drive. Works perfectly. However, the phone calls asking if I wanted to buy more were unwanted harassment.

I ordered this item in a rush because a drive crashed in a NAS. Before buying a NAS disk, inform yourself sufficiently to see if this item would satisfy your particular needs. This replacement item does the job, though it is not on the compatibility list published by the NAS manufacturer.

I have replaced one of my NAS HDD in WD My Cloud Mirror Gen 2 and it took sometime to rebuild the RAID about 2-3 days. But overall the speed is normal as before. Also while noticing the temperature difference between this new drive and my existing old drive which sits beside this one in the NAS enclosure. I see the new drive about 2 degree lesser in temperature consistently.
