Still a good read.
My 10 year old loved loved loved this book.I am pleased as I loved Nancy Drew when I was her age and I was worried it would be too old fashioned. It did take a while to arrive. The book was in very good condition.

Lovable detective girl and interesting plots without violence...still better in French!
I'm French, and I read the Nancy Drew - Alice Roy novels in French when I was young. I bought some of them, in French (in the original printings of the sixties) and this one in English. The translation in French is better than the original in English, and the old illustrations were far better in French books. So, I'll keep reading it in French.

Nancy Drew Classic Collection
I chose this rating because I like mystery books, and because I have read some Nancy Drew books before. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves mysteries, and doesn't mind reading things that were written in the age where there were no mobile phones and computers.

It made a perfect present and a beginning for mysteries in the teen world. It also had a romantic element.

Tedious
Struggling through the first book with my 6 year old. Frankly it's pretty dull. It's probably a touch too old for her, but it's more the subject matter, finding a missing will, that drags on. Plus as is often the case with older children's fiction, the language is very dated. It's a shame as I have very fond memories of reading Nancy Drew but it must have been the later, more updated books, as this is pure tedium.
