How long does this last once opened? Does this expire at all?

It does expire but not usually not for quite some time. I usually buy one can a month but I use about 4 scoops a day for medical reasons.

There are brown pieces floating around my water after mixing this in, is that for everyone?

I haven't noticed anything floating around in my water after mixing the powder. Make sure you mix it well.

Can I take more than 3 scoops if I work outside all day?

3 scoops would give you more than 12,000% daily value of b12 and only 6% calcium and less than 24% mag and phos. Would not recommend.
