Is a hammer the only way to stop this thing pinging google (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4), snitches get stitches! But seriously I've been trying for days!??

We are very sorry with your case. Please try to reset the router to see if it works. Please check out this link for more information: https://docs.gl-inet.com/en/3/tutorials/repair_network_or_reset_firmware/.

Can you use both ethernet sockets for the laptop clients?

Dear customers, GL-AR300M-Lite has only 1 Ethernet port which works as WAN by default. You can only connect to it via Wi-Fi when you first set up the router. Once you have connected to it, you can change the WAN port to LAN port in Internet so that you can connect to it via Ethernet cable. For additional information, we kindly suggest clicking on the link provided below to access further details. https://docs.gl-inet.com/en/3/setup/mini_router/first_time_setup/ Sincerely, GL.iNet

Can i use this to receive a wifi signal and convert it to wired ethernet for a device that isn’t wifi enabled?

Hi, Yes, it works in this situation. Sincerely, GL iNet

Does the device have a hardware clock/ real time clock built in?

It is based on router time. You could set time zone in the admin panel. Please check out this link for more information: https://docs.gl-inet.com/en/3/setup/mini_router/more_settings/#time-zone.
