Fullstar Pro Original Vegetable Chopper Kitchen Prep Tool

Do not like chopping vegetables so my friend told me to get this. So easy to use and definitely recommend. Helps when cutting peppers and onions. Quicker and easier and it’s also easy to rinse off and clean. Comes with different sizes. I got the one with less options since I don’t spiral veggies or anything like that.

This thing is really useful. If you want to chop up some veggies without a lot of extra work, this is the ticket. It comes with two different cutting grids sizes (one smaller, one larger) and believe you me they are sharp! It's super easy to set up, super easy to use (and it works great!), and cleanup is a breeze. It includes two cleanup tools, a small cleaning brush, and a tough plastic receiving bin to hold the cuttings. It's made of a strong, transparent plastic, and is very high quality. The Fullstar Original Pro Chopper has changed the way I prep veggies - I wish I'd found this sooner. It's become a kitchen essential, I'd buy it again, and I give it a full 5 stars.

This does just what I hoped it would. Makes quick work of chopped tomatoes, onions, peppers, sweet potatoes. I eat vegan so I do a lot of chopping. Definitely a time saver. Chopped 5 lbs of potatoes in about 10 minutes. So a few pointers - I keep a cutting board next to it, a little assembly line. Chop the veggies not too thick especially potatoes and sweet potatoes. Don't try to stick a huge chunk in there. Have patience, it still goes quickly. You get a nice dice if it's not too thick. You may have to smack it down hard and quickly for tomatoes to get a clean dice. Red onions cut nicely with the small blade for a fine dice. I love it. Saves me loads of time.

First, this thing is much smaller than anticipated. It lists "1.2L capacity". It turns out that is correct (I measured 1.3L of liquid to fill it). While that is true, I've included a picture of the device I was replacing which also claimed "1.2L capacity" and the difference is huge. The old one just beat their claim by a lot more than this one. That's my fault for believing the old one was 1.2L when clearly it was a lot bigger than that. Second, I was replacing one of these I have from another brand whose blade now pops out every time I lift the lid. The one thing I wanted to know going in was the dimensions of the cutting surfaces. I could not find that in the product description or reviews, so I took a couple of pictures here. The insert itself is just under 3.5" while the cutting surface is just under 3"x3". That's not quite large enough for an onion or bell pepper (photos of dimensions as well as compared to the size of an onion and pepper I had on hand). That's why they're losing the star. The first several devices like this I've purchased over the years have had a cutting surface of somewhere between 3.5"x3.5" and 3.75"x3.75" which was just large enough to fit onions and bell peppers without having to cut them into multiple pieces first. The device is nice and seems well made. There's not nearly as much side-to-side wiggle on the up and down stroke. The top is heavier than the tops of most of these that I've used which will make chopping easier. The non-slip feet do keep it from slipping pretty well. The blade lock works and that is important -the blade flying out every time I pulled the top up on the old one led to some cuts. If they'd increase the height of the collection tray an inch or so it would give a lot more capacity. For the life of me I can't understand why they can't make the cutting surface large enough to handle a typical onion or bell pepper. It'd be a 5-star item for sure with those changes and I'd be a return buyer.

The first 2 times I used this chopper, I really liked it because it made it quicker for me to make Pico de Gallo. There were definitely things I didn't like about it as well, such as you need to precut your veggies to fit in the chopper so that it will chop them. you need to pound it pretty hard to get it to actually chop the veggies, and if you don't pound hard enough, you'll have a smushed tomato or whatever you're chopping. Finally, the third time using this chopper, the locking mechanism (which locks the chopper in place so that it doesn't fall out) kept falling out while I was dumping the veggies I had just cut into the bowl. I grabbed the lock pieces and placed them back on the chopper. This happened 3 times. Fast forward to tonight: I was making my son a rice bowl with chicken and the pico de Gallo I made with the chopper, and he said, "are you trying to kill me? There is a spring in my food". I knew immediately it was the spring from this lock mechanism on this chopper. I've only used this chopper 3 times. This is a major safety hazard!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

When it first arrived I thought it was smaller than what I thought it would be. I decided to keep it and give it a chance. I am glad I kept it because I can chop everything for vegetable stews, chilli con carne and spaghetti bol in no time at all. I would recommend this little chopper. I comes with two cutter sizes but as yet I have only used the larger blade because I like more rugged sized vegetables in my cooking. Be very very careful and never touch the square cutter because it is as sharp as a samurai sword and I am not kidding, if you wven brush your finger on part of the blade you will slice through your skin so use the brush under the hot tap to clean it. I definitely recommend this little device and it is one that will be used regularly. Made from a strong plastic and very easy to dismantle. It has been designed with a lot of thought for the user making it so easy that I did not need the instructions.
