Big sound, easy setup and zero continual fuss at a great price point
The Denon AVR-2800H nails the balance between power, precision and usability. It delivers immersive sound without needing constant tweaking, and once it’s set up, it just works—beautifully. Whether you’re feeding it Dolby Atmos from a Blu-ray or streaming Apple Music via AirPlay in the background, the clarity and spatial control are consistently impressive. What really stands out is how this unit handles both the cinematic and the everyday. Explosions have weight, dialogue remains crisp, and quiet moments are allowed space to breathe. Music playback is warm and expressive, even through modest speakers, and the amp never feels like it’s overreaching. The setup process is straightforward thanks to Denon’s intuitive interface and Audyssey room calibration (using the included microphone and stand). It doesn’t overwhelm with options, but there’s depth when you want it. Connectivity is futureproofed, with modern HDMI standard support making it a strong choice for next-gen gamers and AV enthusiasts alike. In short: the AVR-2800H is a quiet powerhouse. Dependable, flexible, and more than capable of anchoring a modern home cinema system requiring many inputs. For the price point you won’t find better than this and I’d encourage buyers to check out the independent reviews online for evidence of this.

Denon 2800 avr
the Denon 2800 sounds outstanding and it is a great product. some reviews have mentioned that the sound doesn’t sound that great truth is if you play around with the setting’s it can be adjustable and the bass is fantastic specially using a subwoofer and I want to point out that it is a 8k future proof I’ve had mine now for 12 months haven’t had no problems what so ever none at all. the quality of this product is better than a lot of other brands and I think in my opinion it’s best to use a 4.00 speaker wire as others don’t work so great.

Good But Not Spectacular
This was bought to replace a 13-year-old Marantz AV amp that was failing. I can’t say that it sounds a lot better than the Marantz when that was in its prime, but that could be down to the rest of our system, but I do like the Dialogue Enhancement feature with all the less-than-clear script writing these days. There are a lot of new features I haven’t explored yet, but normal operations of the surround sound from our existing sources is not as user friendly (or just different?) from the previous amp. I was disappointed to find that the DAB radio still needed an external antenna to work (only an FM-style t-ribbon is supplied with the amp) - next time I wouldn’t pay the extra for DAB, especially as Internet radio is available. Surround sound set up process is not complicated - just confusing!
