Casio HR-150RCE-WA-EC Printing Desktop Calculator, Black

This is an upgrade from an older version. They are complicated - or more so than your basic calculator, but very handy for book keeping. If you have the P-Error as it seems a few people have, i found it to be solved by changing the batteries, it worked immediately as i put them in. The motor that runs the printer isn't strong enough to work the printer hence the error and the printer cant be turned off until the batteries are changed. May be worth investing in an adaptor if you need to use the printer.

Best calculator I have ever bought.

Despite the name, this is not really a calculator - not in the normal sense of the word. I've been using calculators for over 40 years and I've never used one like this. Think "adding machine" and you're probably closer. It can't seem to decide whether it wants to be a calculator or a till. The operators don't work in order as they do on a standard calculator. Typing 5-2= will give you -3, for example, because putting the - after the 5 turns it into -5 rather than setting up to subtract the next number, then the += button just adds 2. Confusing, to say the least (especially as there's a separate +/- button that you'd use on a normal calculator to negate the value). There are examples in the manual for all the basic operators so read carefully. As someone else has pointed out, += doesn't work like a total, and not like a grand total, and depending which button you press will give you a different answer, or sometimes no answer at all. Even with the printer on, everything doesn't always print out. There are instructions about all of this but they're not great - explanations have largely been ditched in favour of icons. Approach with caution. The tax rate function is easy to set and use, so that's a blessing for VAT calculations. There are options for currency conversions but everything is converted to Euros first, which is odd until you realise this is the Euro version of the product (big € sign on the box). The € on printout seems to indicate a conversion rather than it being a currency symbol as such; I've not seen any other currency signs. It's also big. Like, *really* big. 16x23cm (6.5x9"), in between A5 and A4 in terms of paper sizes. It's fairly lightweight but solid, seems of a reasonable quality for the price. The buttons are a decent size, though they do feel a bit plastic-y. The display is a good size and easy to read, but it would've been nice to have the option of a light. The 2-colour printout is clear and sharp, and can be seen immediately (no need to feed forwards to see the last printed row). There are batteries and a small part-roll of paper but that probably won't last long; also probably worth getting an AC adapter as this is definitely a desktop machine, although Amazon doesn't seem to offer the Casio-specified adapter for this particular model. Looking through the reviews there seem to be a few questions about reliability; there is a reset button on the back, although I haven't had this long enough to know if it will need frequent resets. The weirdness of the operators might well be the cause of some people saying "this keeps giving the wrong answers". I've bought it for bookkeeping work, and it looks like it will be useful once I get the hang of it. Definitely not a standard calculator though. I can't emphasise that enough.

Perfect for what I wanted. Could have done with an extra tally roll.

I wouldn't recommend this calculator. Continual error messages, nothing works to fix it. Only bought it 3 months ago and its unusable. No option on amazon for refund as window closes after 1 month.

After a year, has proved very good product.

I work with AI and machine learning infrastructure, and it took me a solid full week to learn this thing. I am terrible with economics/finance thinking so I guess that was my problem but darn there isn’t much it can’t do.

Als de batterijen leeg raken begint deze p-error te geven. Als je foutoplossing zoekt staat deze reden er niet bij.
