Cheap alternative
Cheap beard shaper does the job.

Difficult to use by yourself
This is an effective beard styling tool. It has the correct contours for trimming the neck, checks and jaw line. It is also a sexy black color. However, I had difficulty shaving clean lines using this by myself. This is partially because of the difficulty seeing the sides of my face in a mirror. But, it was also because the tool is opaque which meant I had to shave my neck line blind because I couldn't see where the razor was underneath this shaping tool. A clear shaping tool would probably be more effective. Plus, I expected this to come with a 'cheat sheet' with pictures (like the ones shown on Amazon's product page) of how to position it. But, it didn't come with any instructions. Anyhow, I was able to use this tool to shape my beard. But, I couldn't get the lines as clean as I wanted. I think you could if you had another person do the shaving, you would be able to get very clean lines. And, I'll probably get cleaner lines as my skills at using this tool along improve. But, it would have been easier to use if it were clear and if it came with a 'cheat sheet'.

Great Product!
I purchased this as a gift for my friend who is barber 💈 and he just graduated from barber school. He is now licensed and working. He is very pleased with this product and it came is handy with quite a few customers.

Pointless and difficult to use.
Pointless. Harder to use that freehand, does not guarantee better results. Makes shaving a three handed activity. The only use case I can think of is someone with mobility issues but honestly, it’s too unwieldily to be that effective in that scenario. To clarify, this is not specific to this product. It seems well made and thoughtfully designed. I just think it’s answering a question no one had.
