It Works!
I was skeptical that this would work as described since it had so many mixed reviews. I found the reviews a little deceiving as this is actually two separate repair solutions in one kit. One of the solutions (the one I did not use) is to re-attach a broken "tab" that connects the main power line to the defrost grid. The other solution is the grids themselves. This product worked well for bridging broken grid lines back together. I used blue painters masking tape rather than the one (1) supplied mask since I had several breaks on five different grid lines to repair. I followed the instructions to a tee and the conductive paint worked great. There was enough in the small bottle for my seven breaks with a little left over. After 30 minutes I removed the masking tape and after another 24 hours I ran the defogger to test it. I could feel with the back of my fingers that each individual grid line was now heating up. The most difficult part was placing the masking tape on the window such that there was a small enough spacing for the grid lines. My window is angled and hard to reach the furthest grid lines toward the back. With some patience I was able to get it. The color of the paint is slightly lighter than the original grid material but not noticeable from the inside of the car. It is slightly more noticeable from the outside, but to me still worth it to have a functioning defogger again. I am more careful now when cleaning the back window to (hopefully) not disturb the repairs. I can't speak to how long the repairs will last and will update this review if I start to see failures.

Both kit components worked well. Much better than expected.
Used both components of the kit. Reattached a tab and repaired some grid lines near the tab. 2019 Ford Ranger pickup. Ford dealership said had to replace the rear window to fix. Followed instructions exactly on the tab replacement. Also used the "glue" material to also reattach some of the foil like material Ford uses to connect the grid lines and used the "paint" to connect the breaks and also paint around the sides of the reconnected tab. The longest grid line reattachment isn't pretty. Would likely have been better if I followed instructions exactly on the paint or used painters tape to tape off as some others have suggested. It's in the corner so not significant. Very happy with results. Used acetone to clean brush in between paint applications.

Wish I could leave zero stars...
Adhesive didn't work at all. When I mean "at all", I mean that it wasn't the least bit sticky/tacky/anything. I kneaded it for minutes. It was a uniform color, just like it should be. I held it for as long as I could. Nothing. Then I taped it and left it for 24hrs. Nada. Bummer because I need to fix this. Edit: Company contacted me. My product had passed the sellby (check your date!) and they replaced it. Worked as described. So far so good.

Does the job.
I got this because I had two lines not working on the back window of my car. It came with both a repair kit for the the printed lines on the windows and a glue kit for the tab that connects the printed elements to the electrical system. In my case the lines were not working but the break wasn't a gap in the line. Instead you could see where it was discolored on the outside of the window. I used the kit an painted it in, and saw that it had filled in the discolored spot. After letting it dry I tested it out and my the two formerly non working lines worked again. Others comment the color doesn't match. True enough, but it does do the job. I used Frog Tape to keep my lines clean when I painted them on. I thought I didn't need the tab glue but then my Jeep's rear defrost wasn't working at all. It turns out the tab had fallen off. I didn't have an ideal connection point for gluing it back but I cleaned it up followed the instructions and glued the tab back on. After that the defrost on the jeep worked. For me that was a nice bonus since I hadn't gotten the kit for the tab repair. The photo shows one of my repairs. I taped wide intentionally due to the kind of discontinuity in that spot. That may or may not have helped with the repair. Overall it seems expensive but it works.

Worked fine - but for only four days
I only needed to repair one defogger tab, and it worked - but only for 4 days. For the record, I obsessively kneaded the adhesive before using it, and I let it cure for two full days before switching it on. The tab held in place well after holding it for just one minute on the treated grid area. It worked fine the first day I powered it up, but appeared to get less effective each day, until after the forth day it was not working even a little bit. The tab remains strongly attached to the window though. I don't think the glue has enough metal particles in it. Note that the tab repair portion of this kit is for one-time use. There is enough adhesive to repair several tabs, but because the adhesive is in a tiny tear-open pouch and the special activator wipe will not last once opened, you'd have to perform all of your tab repairs in quick succession. You must apply the tab with glue within 15 minutes of the activator drying. I did not need the grid repair portion of the kit, but it does come in a reclosable bottle and does not require activation, so it should be usable on multiple occasions. I may try using it to paint over the tab attachment point.

Works well
Works really well. However, applying is tedious work - especially if trying to repair a severely damaged window. I didn’t bother to use the template. Instead I used some 3M purple tape as a template to maintain a straight line. After drying I checked continuity with my multimeter.

Set Your Expectations LOW....
Presume every product review, regardless of favorability, is AI-generated--particularly those here on Amazon. Thus, you are best served by completely ignoring product reviews and buying the item outright. With that out of the way, here's my experience with the 'Permatex 09117 Complete Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit'. Product reviews for EVERY brand of window defogger repair kit are generally bad. So I figured I'd try a name-brand product. I found that the 'Permatex 09117 Complete Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit' basically does not work. If your window defogger has multiple lines that clearly do not work, replace the rear glass. If you insist on attempting this repair yourself, you are in for a frustrating experience. Here's a list of reasons: - A DMM tool will NOT work. This activity requires a special continuity tester tool that, unfortunately, can--and most likely will--damage to the window defogger lines. - You WILL find multiple false positive and multiple false negative areas along the window defogger lines. Some moments a false positive will read as a false negative while other times the reverse is true. - The 'Permatex 09117 Complete Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit' includes just ONE window defogger line "paint template" where a minimum of ten would is needed. - The "paint template" produces a window defogger line that is twice as wide as the OEM window defogger line. This makes EVERY repair quite ugly and very obvious. - The "paint template" is VERY difficult to position atop a presumed damage area. - The conductive paint dries on the brush within minutes, interrupting repairs until the bristles are refreshed. - This activity requires you to sit in awkward and uncomfortable positions; extend your head and neck into tight areas for extended period of time; and bend your arms and wrists unnaturally. - There are areas of the glass you will NOT be able to access. Bottom line: Decide if you can live with a couple dead defogger lines. Otherwise, simply replace the rear glass. This is really your best option. The hours you waste attempting to locate the break--or breaks--in the window defogger line(s) COMBINED with the ugly and obvious painted lines

Easy peasy!
I accidentally scraped through a trace on the rear defogger of my F150 trying to remove a sticker the parts supplier stupidly stuck right over a line, and the dealership, equally stupidly, did not remove upon receipt. The brief time on the lot in the hot sun turned the adhesive to stone that nothing would dissolve. Permatex to the rescue! The kit comes with everything you need, and the instructions are well-written and easy to follow - even in the tight confines of the back of a pickup cab. The repair blends right in and, so far, everything seems to work just fine!

Ottimo prodotto

Works well if following instructions
Worked well. Used it to reattach a heater grid tab back onto the window. Have to remember to use the area of the window with conductor still present. The tab broke off and took some of the conductive surface with it. Glued the tab in another spot.
