Ignore criticism of the SAPHUE PB Bass Wiring Harness. It's excellent, and at $14, it's a vast improvement on the cheap.* I inherited a 1995 Mexican P-Bass that was gathering dust, and I soon discovered why: the volume put was busted, and wouldn't turn because the plastic housing was damaged. Not much risk for the money, and I figured if it didn't work, I'd just solder in individual pots- a few dollars less, but more labor intensive. However, I was pleasantly surprised and not a little irritated when I received this thing, because it was much beefier than the original...which was the source of the irritation. Why didn't they put OE in like this if it cost so little? Anyway, in I went. Now it's time to check my pics, because the wiring harness switches colors. White grounds connect to black ones, and red hot leads connect to white ones. In other words, you have to follow each wire to make sure you're connecting it where it goes. Again, it's a harness, and most of the wiring is already set up, but there's still too much room for error when colors change. Electricians wouldn't dare switch insulation colors. Again, take a look at my pics. I put a bunch of text on them, and if you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself, installation is a snap. Make sure you have a soldering gun, though, which we fix-it folks usually do. If not, you're gonna need one. The end result was terrific. Everything popped back together, the pots are hefty with a nice bit of resistance to them, and they'll fit pretty much any bass you want. A P-Bass pot's a pot. There's also quite a bit of debate whether to install twin 250k or 500k impedance pots. These guys are 250s and they sound terrific, just like the original P-Bass tone. Of course, if you don't have a 1965 P, don't expect the moon. Short story, these are great, a vast improvement in quality and build over the originals, and I'm pleased with the tone, the affordability, and the ease of installation. Just make sure you get those wires soldered correctly. *Would I use a bass onstage after I'd installed these pots? You bet. They're better than the OE. But it's always good to have another axe around, because you'll probably smash one during the show, Mr. Simonon. However, if you have a fairly pricey instrument that you don't like to tinker with, you can take it to a shop...where they'll probably install the exact same thing. Anyway, this is a really solid product at a terrific price, and it's a fun little project that'll make you feel cool. See you on tour. Z

Value for cost is hreat. Fit into guitar great. Sound quality, fantastic. Easy to install.looks fine. Definitely recommend!!

Controls on my bass guitar (1980's Kingston Gremlin) were not working anymore. I changed with these components and everything fits very nicely and works very well. Good quality.

Used these in an old cheap precision bass copy made by Samick - the original pots were fried and these brought it back to life for cheap. They're full sized pots, which was nice, but (not their fault) they barely fit in the bass cavity.
