Solid Pole Saw / Rope Saw That Works Great… But With Some Important Caveats
Okay, so… this saw is a very useful tool. It does exactly what it promises: cuts through branches pretty efficiently once you get the technique down. The build quality feels solid—durable nylon loop ends, good weight to it, and the blade is well-made. It’s basically a chainsaw blade with nylon loops to attach a pull rope to each end, so yeah, it’s sharp as heck and chews through wood surprisingly fast when iyou have it on the correct cutting side. That said, listen up because this is the big one: even though you may think it won't, it WILL jam if you’re trying to cut a larger branch from the ground, especially if the limb is thick or angled awkwardly. I learned this the hard way, I’ve got a very expensive rope jammed up a 40 feet high tree right now because the branch pinched the blade mid-cut and won’t let go. I tied the pull rope to zero turn and it picked it up, So it is built very well. That’s 100% on me for not paying attention to other reviews, not a flaw in the tool itself. The saw works fantastic when everything goes smoothly. The key trick (which I wish was explained more clearly in the instructions) is making sure the blade is positioned on the correct side of the branch—the “cutting side” where gravity and your pull will help keep tension and prevent binding, I wasted a lot of energy pulling while it was upside down on he branch, hard to tell for sure, had to use binoculars to realize it was upside down. I’d personally love to see a version of this tool that’s designed to cut from either side, because getting the positioning perfect from the ground isn’t always easy. Safety-wise, don’t stand directly under the branch you’re cutting. Branches can swing, twist, or drop unpredictably. I strongly recommend having a partner to help pull the tool back after each stroke to keep control and reduce the chance of it getting stuck again. Wear eye protection, gloves, and maybe even a helmet if you’re working with bigger stuff. Overall, super simple to use once you figure out the technique, and it’s way more effective than I expected for reaching high branches without a big ladder or expensive pole pruner. Just respect its limitations, don’t get cocky on thick cuts, and double-check your setup every time. If you do that, this thing is a game-changer for yard work or light tree trimming. Worth it—just be smarter than I was on my first big branch!

Great for skinny trees, nothing else really
On young trees only it works decent as it should, it’s a great back workout as well it can get stuck so do think about buying oils for it or whatever.

Great trail clearer in the Sled items.
Served its purpose first day in the pack. Snowmobile trail was blocked. Probably a 12" diameter truck across the trail. Took two guys less than 5 mins to cut through it. Not sure why others have said it can only cut 2/3". It was great at cutting!! Stays safe in is pouch. Easy easy to use.

Not worth the money
The chainsaw came like it looked in the picture. Getting into the tree was fun, but from there the chainsaw did not work. The chainsaw would make the start of cut and then would get stuck and not move anywhere. It got to a point it was stuck and we couldn't get it out of the tree so we left it, but that thing was not moving. I would suggest to go out and get a tree chainsaw that you hold over this, might be more money but it will save you time.

Well, the branch is no longer on the tree...
I felt compelled to give this product a 5 star review because the saw did exactly what it was supposed to do, and yes, the limb is down, but at what cost? I've lost the respect of my wife. My children will no longer look me in the eye. Whatever small shred of dignity I was clinging to has disippated much like the sawdust from an inadequate and awkwardyl trimmed branch. In my missplaced, nay, delusional determination to remove this stubborn protuberance, I did not account for the massive amout of user error that could be involved in the limb trimming process. Issues such as having the rope and saw repeatedly get caught in other branches, which required me to jerk and swing the rope around like an imbecile for 20 minutes to get it loose. Or the blisters on my hands from "sawing" at the limb for what seemed like an eternity, only to discover that I was making no progress because the saw blades weren't directed down into the branch, but rather merrily sawing away at the cool, October, afternoon air. I have been reduced to a shadow of my former self. An empty, sullen, husk of a man. I might have purchased a pocket chainsaw, but by the end of this endevour, friends, it was I who was tucked snuggly into the pocket of the chainsaw. Let this serve as a warning to those who will hear it, this chainsaw does not care how athletic, coordinated, or virile you think you are, it will break you.

Great to add to any survival kit
Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loved it. He said it would be great to add to the survival kit we've been making (for when we're out fishing, etc. and something may happen). The chain is nice and seems sturdy. We love the fact it has paracord for handles and gives you examples of what you can use it for. We would definitely buy it again and recommend it.

Great little chain saw
We bought this to cut a hard to reach limb that needed to come off a tree. The oak limb was approx 7-8” diameter and 20 feet up a big tree. Tree was on a steep cliff/rocky hill (so not easy to get sat with ladders and chain saw). Tied a rope to each end of the rope saw handle. Hubby on one end, me (wife) in the other. We pulled back and forth and the limb was off in a couple minutes (we are mid 40s, fit people, he’s 180lbs and I’m 140lbs for reference of ability to use this saw). The saw worked perfect and we will now pack it in our hunting, camping and snowmobiling gear as a survival tool. Saw looked like it was never used after. I think a younger to older person could use it. Only recommendation is to get ropes that don’t flex when pulling. If we had more ridged ropes, this little gem would have had the job done sooner. Highly recommend! Great tool for the outdoorsy person, farmer, cottages etc!

Easy to use and very efficient
Great product and very compact. Very easy to use to help cut down small / medium trees. It doesn't get stuck on tye trunk and cuts through in next to no time. The blades are very sharp. I personally keep the chain in a plastic zip sandwich bag and then keep that in the black case to avoid getting water damage on the blades
