These units are rock solid and the performance is top notch. It’s important to make sure that you’re keeping both the firmware and bootloader up to date for the best stability and performance. Additionally, I’ve found that the MikroTik branded SFP+ work best when you’re doing copper ports with auto-negotiation, off brand just doesn’t auto-negotiate correctly. I’ve love the MikroTik brand for years as they are easy to set up with a lot of powerful flexibility if you know anything about networking and they are far more cost efficient than products with the same level of functionality. I’ve got 2Gbps GPON as a primary, 500Mbps cable as a secondary, Starlink as a tertiary, and 5G cellular all handled in this unit and they connectivity is 100% available. I use the 25Gbps ports for downstream connections to my NAS and my whole network screams.

If you are looking to maximize your internet speed, even for a home user, this device will do it all for you, but you must know what you are doing. There is a wizard for detecting internet connectivity and setting up DHCP/etc for your network, however beyond that, you will need to spend time setting things up, like external firewall, failover, etc. I have since thrown out all my Ubiquiti and UniFi, as well as Netgear/Linksys/Cisco product. This blows it all away, and for a fraction of the price.

These routers have spent the last 4 years with known issues that cause a boot loop. It is a known issue that gets very little support from mikrotik. There are some known work arounds but there are still issues that need to be manually investigated upon arrival.
