Update: Dec 11, 2023. I had purchased two of these and one decided to lock-up after one month with very little use. I couldn't even get it to boot...it would freeze during the Bios. I thought that I would take a chance and contact the company that sold it through Amazon. To my surprise, they were just excellent. There were no excuses or accusations that I had done something wrong. They asked me to ship it back to them and they emailed me a shipping label. They stayed in touch with me once they received it and had it back to me within three weeks. It's working fine now and my original profile was still on it. In a day with terrible service, it's very refreshing to find a company that stands behind what they sell and do everything possible to make the customer happy. I don't need to buy computers often, but when I do, I'll be sure to buy one from them. Thanks.I finally needed a laptop for travel as I'm really a desktop guy. I've worked with laptops for work, but haven't owned one myself in a long time. I purchased this one for the price point and the specs (especially the 16 GB of RAM). The computer arrived quickly and the computer has been working fine. It doesn't respond like it has 16GB of RAM, but it is still fast enough. I mostly work with online applications and streaming video and it works fine. I don't really have anything negative to say about it, especially at the $260 price range.

Mine bricked when it tried to restart after a windows 11 update. I tried several things that various groups suggested. I went to the HP website, and put in my serial number. After trying various things suggested by the virtual assistant, it offered to have me buy a support package, or continue trying on my own. I continued on my own. The next thing it suggested worked! Here's the instructions:Many HP computers have an HP BIOS Restore tool to recover the BIOS from an earlier version and restore basic functionality. This tool might or might not work depending on many factors and depending on if the hard drive remains functional, but it is worth trying in the event the BIOS has become corrupted. You can also recover the BIOS using an external storage device.Turn off the computer, then connect the power cord into a power source.With the computer off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time.Still pressing those keys, press and hold down the Power button for no longer than 2 to 3 seconds, then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows and B keys until the BIOS update screen displays or until you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).The power LED light remains on, and the screen remains blank for about 40 seconds before anything displays. You might hear beeping sounds. Eventually, an HP BIOS Update screen displays and the BIOS update begins automatically.

I plan on running Google Chrome app and I would NOT have bought this computer if it have been fully and truthfully advertised as having Windows 11 Home - S Mode. I now have to learn how to delete S Mode or the computer will not allow me to install Goggle or other certain apps. Thanks HP/Amazon.

Purchased for my 8yr old son and turned out to be a very nice buy for the price. I would recommend this for a starter laptop!
