Looks great, sounds great and exceptional value for money
I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a ukulele for some time so when lockdown was imposed for a second time decided then that time was now. After much research I opted for the Aklot tenor ukulele as it was sensibly priced and came with a selection of accessories including a tuner (essential), strap, plectrums, cleaning cloth, spare strings and carry bag. It also came with a little beginners booklet and a chord chart which was very useful for getting started as I was a complete beginner. The ukulele is a wonderful bit of craftsmanship, very well made with nice little touches such as the bird shaped bridge and engraved bird and makers name in the headstock, all the components such as the tuners and fretboard etc are top quality. Tuning the ukulele was very easy using the supplied tuner, simply clip it onto the headstock, select the Uc option and it indicates when each string is perfectly tuned. The ukulele sounds exceptionally good with a rich sound that surprised me a little, I was expecting it to sound a bit tinny, but it resonates superbly and holds the notes well, and unlike some ukuleles that I read reviews on this one doesn’t need tuning every 5 minutes, although I tend to check the tuning at the start of every practice session. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would certainly recommend anyone thinking of taking up the ukulele to consider an Aklot.

Perfect for beginners, great price & quality
Had a lousy cheap thing for a while but really wanted to get into ukulele properly, which meant much better quality. Didn't want to spend the earth on my first in case i didn't carry it on though and this looked a good choice. It was a fantastic choice. Arrived quick and in perfect condition. Easy and fast to tune and once its tuned and you've played a while the strings really set-in nicely, i check every couple of days and not needed any tuning for about 3 weeks now. You get a great sound out of it and it really is a joy to play. The book you get is perfect to get you going even for an absolute beginner. I was puzzled by the thick, felt pick at first, having never seen one before, but they really are great to use when you get used to them... mines starting to get worn already! Once you get the basic chords done, greet to a guitar chord site and search for ukulele chords for your favourite songs, you'll be amazed at how many you can play by learning about 6 chords. It never occurred to me that a uke would need a capo so that's next to open up more songs. Fantastic product and if you are looking to learn, look no further than this. If you're a bloke, the smallest you should get is the 23" really as the frets are small fir getting two fingers in and you'll struggle with smaller, however for me the 26" seemed too big and took away its novelty value. I have been playing guitar about 16 years by the way so found this way easier than most will - just don't give up, you wont regret this purchase!

How can they sell this so cheaply? It's really good!
Exceptional value for money. Comfortable to play. Sounds good. Very generous amount of extras. Doesn't sound cheap.

Nicely made instrument. Great value for money
I purchased this Ukelele from reading the reviews and they mostly gave it high marks. I think they were absolutely right. Now, I am a total beginner at music, but I do know about woodwork, having made furniture for many years, and in my opinion, the woodwork is excellent and the finish really good. No marks or chips, no excess glue run out. the shape is lovely with a nicely rounded top edge to save your wrists from scraping, realy good. I'm told cheap ukeleles often go out of tune, well after a few practise sessions it did need re-tuning but after a further couple of weeks practicing every day for at least 20min, I have not had to do it again. The rest of the kit is fine considering the price, the carry bag is lightweight but seems sturdy enough. It has a carry handle and also strapping for use as a rucksack. It came with a small electronic tuner and battery. It worked but so small I could not see it easily with my less than perfect eyes. But all I can say is for the price I am very pleased, it beat my expectations and I have no hesitation in giving it 5 stars.

Absolutely Outstanding.
Well, first of all, I have taught Violin and Piano around schools for 23 years, the Uke has become popular of late and I am often called upon to teach whole class lessons with the Uke (Never thought I would be doing that after finishing music college). I have had a few Uke's, a nice old 30s Broadcaster etc but never really a reasonable traditional instrument. I am pleased to say now I have. Whoever put this package together did so with sensitivity, nothing included is really cheap and nasty and the instrument makes a good tone for this price bracket. So here is the lowdown. The Uke is slightly bigger (by a couple of cms) than the usual and is indeed made of solid wood. It has fixings for the included strap that are well placed and strong, I am six foot and the strap fits. The electronic tuner that comes in the package is Ace, the battery is included but not already inserted so no leaking. It's a good tuner and very easy to do. The tuner shows you the note and lights green when the note is bang on. The cleaning cloth that is also provided is novel but has a nice touch. Spare strings are labelled so no problems identifying the correct one should you have a breakage. Two picks were provided, a super soft and a hard guitar style. So in all, I can tell that however put this together was thinking of the player and not considering how to cut corners. This Uke would suit a child because you will avoid the disappointment caused by cheap stuff and at the same time get all the above. The case is OK and a little chord book with Uke info is included plus so tunes in the Uke tab. I really cannot rate this high enough. Well with it!!!!!! ******

Great value Tenor ukulele
I have some experience of playing the accoustic guitar but recently wanted to try playing the ukulele Read the reviews on the Aklot Tenor solid mahogany ukulele and although sceptical due to the price thought it was worth taking a risk. On unpacking my initial impression was it looks a really well finished instrument and as far as able to tell it is of all solid construction. The accessory kit is welcome. The tuner seems to agree with my other tuner and is very easy to use. The strap is nice quality and the rest of the accessory's will be useful. I tuned it and checked the intonation which according to the tuner is perfect. I am really impressed with the finish and cant fault it with no signs of excess glue. The biggest concern I had was the frets might be sharp but on my instrument they were very smooth. On starting to play in my opinion the tone is really nice and it has good sustain. The only criticism is that on my one the action is a little high 3.5mm at the twelfth fret but I will let the instrument settle for a week before adjusting. That said it is easy to play out of the box. This is my third ukulele, the first being a Flight concert round back which my wife has commandeered! I built a second from a kit which was not a straight forward as the advert implied and had to be modified in a number of ways to make it playable and I am still trying to dress the frets. The Aklot definitely sounds superior to this one. To summarise I am very happy with the Aklot and think for the price or even spending another £20 or £30 would have been lucky to find a better one. I was tempted to give it a 4 star rating due to the previously mentioned slightly high action but feel considering the price and the otherwise excellent quality and value that would have been harsh. UPDATE After removing 1mm from the base of the bone bridge to ( a common and easy adjustment to guitars and ukuleles) it has made the good ukulele into an excellent one. I can only highly recommend the Aklot Tenor to anyone looking to buy their first Ukulele or those who want to upgrade.

Sounds great, played every day for months!
So this was my second ever Ukulele, after a very unhappy experience with a cheap £25 soprano. I realised I needed more space on the fret board for playing better and as a result this instrument has helped me go from beginner to intermediate for how well it plays and feels. The kit - As described, it came with gig bag, Aklot branded tuner, spare strings (generic, nylon, nice quality), a gig strap (checkerboard coloured, handy), and a few things like chord chart and beginners guide. For the price, this was perfect. The sound - I have included a video of the sound as it plays nicely. It has open geared tuners which are high ratio - I didn't know what that meant at first but now I know that essentially means more accurate tunings and less 'slip' so even if it does need a tune up its a tweak here and there, not way out. Resonance in the high end can be a bit sharp. I am impressed as I have since played, and own, much higher priced ukulele's and this holds its own against double its price range easily comparable to any Kala solid mahogany options (which are all around £100-150). The ukulele - Pros - I really like the etched logo, lovely carved/etched out rosette and the bird saddle. I love how this has real bone and decent enough strings to make it sound and play nicely. I love how easy it is to play. The frets were not sharp and I have not needed to sand or alter the set up at all. The bridge/nut/saddle all as stock and work lovely. The weighting is nice. The price makes this a great great option. Cons - The finish could be nicer with a thicker gloss lacquer, as after months of daily playing in places it has shined up and other places flattened out, but that is wear and tear. As mentioned, the resonance in the high end can be a bit sharp but nice bass and good intonation so it is more likely to be string related rather than the wood. I would change the strings but it plays so nicely in the mid ranges and for most of my stuff and stays in tune so well that I almost do not want to. The lack of closed gears and the peculiar string slotting through the body, means if i am picky, it takes longer to bed into a stretched tune but in fairness it holds tune for days. Overall - I think for the price this is a simply wonderful recommendation. I have played at least 1-2 hours a day on this very Ukulele for nearly 2 months and I have not had any real fault with it. I have since fallen into a Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome and have 6 ukulele's and love to play this one still, over and over, as it is consistent. Considering this is a low priced (around £50-60) ukulele, it competes with mid range (circa £100-150) all day long. **I would highly recommend, and think this best serves someone like me who has/had a soprano and needs to have a bit more room for fingering the chords, but does not yet want to commit to something that will be £300. It really allowed me to grow as a player from a basic beginner, knowing nothing, to playing 40+ chords and at pace. That is the closest you can get to the definition of a Beginner to Intermediate and this Uke got me there.**

Excellent acoustic concert ukulele!
I almost returned this thinking I had a buzzing issue! It was just the strings needing to be stretched and tuned over a number of days as it is fine now and I LOVE this uke!!! It is beautifully made! The fret board is well marked on top and sides and I really love the dove engraving and bridge! The solid mahogany body is lightweight with wonderful resonance and volume. It comes with a nice strap to attach to the two buttons as well as a great tuner and a few other things you may or may not use. The bag is just Ok but adequate. The action is great and the more I play it the more I love it! It is a wonderful instrument and nicer than my first one I bought years ago which was twice the price!!

Great product, looks good and has a nice tone.
I am a beginner Ukulele player so wasn't sure what I should purchase. I looked around alot and did some research. I decided on Akot tenor Ukulele. I am very pleased with my purchase. The things that came with the Ukulele were useful and of good quality, particularly good for a beginner who was not sure what was needed. The Ukulele has a great sound, even with a beginner using it!
