Great budget chainsaw
I bought this chainsaw primarily to cut a large stump left by others to a lower level (I dug all the earth around the stump first) and in the future for me to cut logs and timber so I can turn on a lathe. It was easy to assemble & fit the chainbar and chain. Once primed, it started and ran well, and was very easy to re-start. Safety brake works well, (kicked back only once and that was my fault!) Safety kit although basic is adequate for home gardening use. The mesh face guard will stop flying debris, I have prescription safety glasses provided by employer so didnโt need the goggles. The spare chains are a bonus as well. I thought Iโd get through more than 1 chain on this stump but was pleased that 1 chain was suffice - there were a lot of vertical cuts on this job and it was just starting to blunt toward the end - there is a file provided to sharpen the chain. Had to tighten the chain 3or 4 times but that is to be expected and was easy to do - (loosen the chainbar locking nuts a bit, tighten the chain and then re-tighten the nuts). Neat carry bag (but only fits chainsaw with the 16โ chain fitted). Toolkit has all the appropriate tools needed. All in all, a great budget chainsaw package with everything you need to get going (except fuel & oils). Itโs not a chainsaw for professional arborists or tree fellers, but certainly good enough for use in the garden. Would I recommend - absolutely.

ATTENTION SEEKING CHAINSAW
A compact designed saw, supplied with two bars and four chains, tools, spark plug, oil, mixer bottle, funnel, bag, instructions, and safety gear, head unit, ear protectors, safety glasses, gloves. Tools supplied in a zipper pouch. See photo. Assembly :- Add toothed wood gripper piece first. The removal of the side part when fitting the bar and chain presented no problems. At first I fitted the chain wrong way round, the instructions warns against this. I found chain and bar fitting more difficult due to the design having the chain tension unit on the removed cover part, leading to working blind in locating the pin in the bar hole. while keeping the chain in the groves and holding the bar etc. However it was all accomplished. Actually the assembly of the head protection gear took longer to do! A spark plug was supplied loose, was it a spare? Access to spark plug on engine is found by unscrewing the black plastic turn knob which releases part of the top cover exposing the air cleaner, which is lifted up and out and care is needed not to drop anything into the open intake to the engine. The spark plug is then accessible and one was already fitted. (not mentioned in the instructions) The clear plastic push unit near the choke lever and on-off switch and not mentioned in the instructions. To be push a few times to prime the system with petrol as part of the starting process. Started after a few pulls. Initially after trying it out the tick over speed seemed too high to me. (I have been user of chain saw over 40 years) I reduced this, all ok. Next day felled a tree with 12โ trunk and cut it into block sizes. The saw managed this ok but I found the kick back lock very sensitive and little movement caused it to operate, frustrating, slightest touch and all stopped, and donโt think it can be adjusted. The now warmed up engine etc when completing a cut stopped on release of the throttle lever and was hard to start. This may be due to the reduction of the tick over setting that had been reduced earlier, hope. Continual bother to keep it going irritating. Adjustment is provided for the chain saw oiling, through a hole in the underside. There seems to be a nylon screw in there but the screwdriver supplied does not attach to it and I cannot get the screw turned either way. BU-KO booklet guards against "Wasted or Regenerated" saw oil and states "Use motor oil SAE 10W-30. " This surprised me as I thought chain oil was to be stickey Adjustment of the throttle tick over is via a hole in the side for a screwdriver which is a star head. The throttle screw had the HT spark plug lead over the front of it, blocking the screwdriver reaching the adjuster. Is there a spark arrestor in the silencer / muffler. Summary is that it cuts wood, but needs continual fettling? I have had a Husqvarna 18โ saw for many years and never had to give it same attention as this one which I now own for a few days. Low cost?? At ยฃ130 in GB would be around $100 or less in USA. This saw ex factory cost is probably made for around $25 or less. T S Hamilton

Whether you get a good or bad Chinese BU-KO 65cc chainsaw appears to depend on luck!
I've waited 3weeks before deciding to complete the review for the Chinese BU-KO 65cc chainsaw. Now used for 9 hours and would have been longer but gave up on some days because it was too difficult to start. Anyone familiar with chainsaws shouldn't find too much difficulty putting the saw together. After that it appears you rely on luck as to whether you have a 'good' saw or a 'bad' saw' As mine has problems I'm trying to be reasonable and saying its one of the bad ones. Just to highlight main difficulties, its hard to start and restart, constantly checking and clean oil port, handle requires constant tightening and two chains have already snapped. I just make a brief mention of the additions that come with saw, the gloves are actually plastic, the goggles are unbelievably flimsy and should not be relied on to protect you eyes, and the face shield similar in poor quality.

Read the instructions first before assembly and operation.
The order was delivered before the due date and came with many more extras than was on the description which was well received. The unit was not easy to put together, especially the chain and blade, but eventually was completed and works very well. It is essential to read the instructions, especially on safety. It is good value for money

Powerful saw for the price, great customer service
I have been looking out for a saw for a while, and couldn't justify forking out the prices quoted for the big brand name saws, so when I came across this, and read some of the reviews, I took a chance.....and am I glad that I did!! The saw arrived and assembly was easy, and the more I went through the packaging, the more amazed I was with all the extras that came with it, spare chains, fuel mixer bottles, gloves, mask, glasses, incredible value. But the extra's are only one small element, how does it actually perform. I had two trees that fell during the recent storm, so I tackled them straight away, and it glided through the branches, it was a pleasure to use. After a couple of days of use, I encountered an issue where the brake got jammed and I couldn't unjam it. A message over to the seller, a reply an hour later and the problem was resolved, superb customer service. I know the "serious" wood cutters wouldn't dream of using a saw that wasn't one of the big brands, but for me, someone who cuts wood when a tree falls, I couldn't be happier. 10/10
