WAHL 8173-700 Professional 5 Star Vanish Shaver for Professional Hairdressers and Stylists- 8173-700 Gold

I have used various electric shavers for over fifty years and this is the best I have ever used. It both cuts remarkably close and does a very good job catching those difficult hairs on your neck. On the downside it claims that the battery life is one hundred minutes. I have now charged it fully three times and I cannot get more than sixty-five minutes from a single charge. Once you know this it is not a problem but remember to take the charging cable with you when you book any holiday of a week or longer. Noise level: From a distance of eighteen inches, in a room with ambient background noise of around 30db the Wahl Vanish produces around 75db when fully charged. This could be considered a little noisy. However, when the battery level is low the noise level is as low as 61-62db. This is very quiet for a foil shaver.

Had shaver a couple of months. Shave extremely close, I use it as final shave, build really good, have to careful while cleaning. Really good buy

A good piece of kit just need to remember to clean blade to get a crisp cut when going over your head very light weight.

Incredible product. Didn't want to review straight away, to get a better look at it first. Got it after looking at multiple reviews on YouTube where got the impression that this was an upgrade of what I already had. It is. Love the battery since runs for months on a single charge! It is very robust by design, easy to clean and shaves very well. There might be upgrades to even better but might? This shaves like I want. Reviewed by people who use in barbers as in where they do high volume and want something that does the job. Again and again and again! Delighted with my purchase 👍

I have bought the best and most expensive shavers on the market ( Braun Panasonic Philips ) which are all VERY good shavers : but this is the closest shave you will ever get from an electric shaver : : as long as you heed the instructions :: do not press hard while shaving : let the machine do all the work. After My first shave with it, I used the latest Gillette wet razor and it did not take off any more facial hair.

I have used a Series 9 for 10 years, purely for shaving my head. Recently I have realised how expensive they are to maintain and then replace when the head is blunt, I bought a third party head and it basically pulled my hair out, so I went on the hunt for a new shaver, after a quick look at the closest shave with an electric razor, I came across this. I have just received it, with a 2 day stubble on my head, straight out of the box it has given me not only a much closer shave, but in far fewer passes too. I was sceptical of a 0.05mm length claimed by Wahl, and imagined it to be a typo, but I can honestly say it is the closest shave I have ever had without using a razor. Graned it has some features the Series 9 has, the head doesn't tilt, there is no retractable clipper, but with results this impressive I don't need any of that. I cannot comment on the longevity, but seeing as it is intended to be used by working barbers on a daily basis, then I can't imagine it being sub par in that respect. The biggest question I have is, why hasn't Wahl rolled out this technology to consumer products, as they are on an absolute winner. If you've made it this far into my review, then buy it now.

The shaver is great not sure why the manufacturer set the foils at 2 different levels maybe trying out a new way of shaving? Try to see what I’m on about

Crazy razor burn. Even without pushing or forcing things. Leaves a lot of thic beard hairs randomly scattered. You have to do the same area multiple times so the razor burn gets even worse. Maybe better for regular hair, not beard

Comfortable and most effective. This is my 2nd Wahl shaver. I use it for beard shaving only and I am a regular shaver. A little practice and it will give a clean shave more than Gillet 5 blade which I was using since decade. The only down side is under chin which requires a little more effort. You can ask Gemini or download from Google regarding tips and tricks of using Wahl professional 5 star shaver and get idea to use the shaver effectively. Regarding battery 5 days of 10 minutes use has consume one bar out of 3 which I think can last for 12 to 15 days on a single charge which is more than sufficient. During my search the other online stores showing higher prices but only Amazon made it to a reasonable price band. It is definitely an original product. Amazon is doing great. Definitely this is an investment with the price. But one should carefully use and maintain regularly as the the foils are thin.

It gives the same result of using glade but without causing skin irritation. I use it daily!
