WOW, hifi bargain, soundbar killer
I've been listening and buying hifi for about 36 years now. Always amplifiers or av receivers with different speaker combinations including 5.1 I decided to sell all my equipment and get two pairs of Roxel onyx, one in black and one in oak. The oak is a lovely finish by the way. I'll get the minus points out the way first. Both speakers have hiss on all the inputs, so if you listen to quiet music, you might hear it. The input light can be annoying and it can't be dimmed. I put a piece of black rubber over mine sometimes. The grilles are really stiff and would be better on magnets. Now the positives, Roxel have included all the inputs you could possibly need , RCA for analogue, optical/coaxial better if you've got it and hdmi arc( set your TV to pcm, if you get no sound. Sound, wow I don't miss my seperates anymore. They sound so detailed, I'm hearing sounds I've never heard before. This is accompanied by a smooth sound with the right amount of bass for me personally. Bluetooth is very good, close to CD and I've not had any breakups in my 10 feet range. In fact as soon as I turn on the speakers, my phone starts playing. CDs via analogue RCA or optical/coaxial are just glorious. In fact I tried some Q Acoustics 2020 speakers with a Marantz mcr603 and the Roxel sound better. So they probably sound better than the Q Acoustics active speakers which are three times more. Hdmi arc movies are great, very good clarity clear dialogue and deep bass. I watched FLIGHT with Denzal Washington and the aircraft sounded amazing with deep bass. The Crow was really enjoyable, loud and clear. Spotify via hdmi is a delight, Suzanne Vega headshots and Roxy Music Same old scene sounded like reference recordings. If you've got the space, these speakers not only destroy soundbars but beat most budget speakers and amps. Make sure you space them out for the best sound. INCREDIBLE VALUE £100-£110, thanks Roxel.

Sounds superb.
Looked at loads of bookshelf speaker reviews on other sites and plumped for these, especially as they have Hdmi ARC connection to use with my TV. So glad I did as this sounds far better than my old 2.1soundbar. The dialogue settings is excellent for normal TV viewing, music one great and movie button fantastic, for only two speakers, the sound quality is miles ahead of my old setup. On rear of main speaker you can find tune bass and treble of each of the three main sound effects. There are plenty of connection options but for TV hdmi is easiest as speakers switch on/off and volume is controlled by TV remote. Am no audiophile but these really are a revelation after my old setup. Recently tried an Dolby Atmos soundbar by a well-known brand at found that sounded dreadful,(especially playing music), personally think that's all marketing hype but each to their own. In all,I would happily recommend these quality bookshelf speakers, great price, solid build, all the connections you'd need and above all fantastic sound.

Very good product... but rebranded?
Before discussing the title of this review, I’d like to share some impressions about these speakers from a non-professional perspective. The speakers, even considering the price, offer excellent presentation. They have an appropriate weight, good sound quality, and in my case, as I wanted to enhance my TV audio, they perform their task admirably. However, I would have preferred stronger bass and greater sound power, as during the viewing of some movies, there’s a noticeable ‘something extra’ that, as a non-expert, I can’t quite identify but would enhance the experience. Nevertheless, the effect is almost comparable to that of a cinema. I believe adding a subwoofer could improve the overall performance. A notable merit is the presence of an HDMI ARC output, which is rare to find in speakers within this price range. Additionally, the variety of provided cables (including an optical cable) is commendable, although the absence of an HDMI cable is a significant drawback in my opinion. Another minor flaw is the lack of an on/off switch on the back of the main speaker, so it remains in standby mode when connected to the power supply. It’s unusual that they didn’t include this switch, which is typically present even in simpler speakers. Now let’s address the point raised by my title. After some research, I discovered that these Roxel speakers are not original. In fact, they are disguised Vulkkano A5 speakers. This surprises me because Roxel promotes itself as a British company that designs its products in Essex (“each product is carefully designed and crafted according to consumer needs”), which undermines the credibility of a company with twenty years of experience that implies the authenticity of its products when, at least in this case, it’s clearly a rebranding. Greater transparency would be necessary, as this situation casts shadows on the company and all its products. However, it’s worth noting that the Vulkkano A5 speakers are sold at a significantly higher price, so you’re getting a product that would cost much more in other markets, which is positive. In conclusion, these speakers are not bad, and at this price point, they easily compete with soundbars that also cost £130 or more, proving themselves capable. Thanks to the HDMI ARC output, they can be a quality alternative. I recommend them, but consider adding a subwoofer if you desire deeper and more powerful sound.

The best budget speakers around
I bought these speakers for my TV entertainment system. I personally like a speaker to have a bit of length, & these speakers for the price & appearance & the light oak colour, are a nice addition along side my subwoofer. If you’re on a budget, these are a sensible purchase. Not quite 100 watts , more like 75 watts. The name ROXEL I actually had never heard off, so I took a chance spending £100 and I was pleasantly surprised. They look fantastic, they actually sound fantastic, even without a subwoofer, but do advise adding a subwoofer. Don’t expect a room shaking system, but if you are on a budget, you will not be disappointed, take the name ROXEL away & put a KEF label on, people will pay a lot more than £100. The best speakers in that price range.

Ridiculous value for money
Staggered that these cost so little. I’ve owned loads of speakers - Tannoy, Kef, Monitor Audio, etc - but bought these to take on weekends away so I don’t have to rely on underpowered Bluetooth speakers, but also don’t have the faff of wiring up a full amp and speaker system. So pleased I did. The level of detail they produce is incredible. Great depth to the sound and the bass can really dig deep when you need it to. Bags of volume and an absolute joy to listen to across a wide range of music. I listen to everything, from bands, acoustic, classical, through to house and drum and bass - and they seem to handle everything brilliantly. Outrageous value at £100. I’d happily have paid double. Think I might buy some more before everyone else cottons on…

Awesome sounding speakers
I Love these speakers. I'm using them as wall speakers mounted on brackets. I'm not sure they're as good as the four Wharfedale's I had connected to my separates but having limited space and not wanting a load of wires everywhere I went for these and they sound great. Bluetooth is flawless with no lag and connection to my phone or bluetooth turntable is almost instant. Just make sure that you turn off your phone bluetooth when connecting to a deck as the speakers can't be connected to two things at the same time. Build quality is lovely and they have a good weight to them. The only negative in my view is having to connect the main speaker to the slave speaker via a din cable, but I guess you can't have everything. Highly recommended 👍

Enforced Auto-muting.
TL;DR: these speakers' auto-mute at low volume. This cannot be disabled. (Tested with TV, PC and Consoles, through RCA and Digital Optical connection.) First, the positives: Well constructed, their heft no doubt facilitates their admirably punchy mid-range. Initially, these sounded surprisingly good for the price. Then I noticed the auto-mute. Starting an audio file from a silent start, there is a noticeable audio delay as the speakers come out of auto-mute. When an audio file ends quietly, auto-mute kicks in before the track ends (with an audible "pop" as a bonus). A very quiet film scene triggers auto-mute. When the film's audio picks up again, auto-mute goes from absolute silence back to your original volume, instantly. Sometimes used to silence noisy speakers (think Hiss, White Noise, Static), auto-mute is sold to the unwitting as "Power Save". It is a highly contentious design choice for speakers. These Roxel RBS-350BT speakers are auto-muting speakers and the fact that this actuality was omitted from the product description page, borders on deception. Product returned within 24 hours. Further: it appears, as per another review here, that Roxel did not make these speakers, merely rebranding a pair of VULKKANO A5 ARC Active Speakers as their own. The VULKKANO A5's, reviewers say, had an issue with loud hiss. Hence, the addition of auto-mute by Roxel? Who knows. Roxel has wasted my time, strained my patience and I had to pay the lion's share of international return postage. Fair Warning.
