Really stops snoring
UPDATE 10/15/15: Theravent continues to work extremely well. It has been six months of no snoring and restful sleep. Even better, we have found that these are durable enough to be used up to four nights in a row and still work like new. On the fifth night the air valves are broken down too much and doesn't produce any pressure. Still love these and will continue to buy and recommend to others. UPDATE 6/30/15: Theravent is still working as well as the first night. Nothing has ever worked for more than a week or so. It really does help keep the airway open to prevent snoring. I did notice that if my husband lays on his back, he will snore lightly. If he lays on either side, absolute quiet bliss. These have been a real lifesaver for both of us. He doesn't stop breathing multiple times per night, and I get to sleep. I have about one months worth left. I love these so much, I will be buying a years supply. You can buy a large supply like that directly from the manufacturer. I highly recommend. UPDATE 5/20/15: This is still working perfectly. I just ordered more. My husband is not snoring at all. His airway is staying open. No more gasping for air during sleep. We both sleep so much better now. I have a hard time believing all of the negative reviews, especially since most of them are not amazon verified purchases. My husband has facial hair and these are easily applied and they work. This is not a C-Pap or Bi-pap, it is an EPap (expiratory positive airway pressure) system. It works so well my next order will be a one year supply directly from theravent. Highly recommend! I have tried many other anti snoring devices for my husband over the years, but this one is a miracle. My husband did not snore once. He falls asleep immediately while it takes me longer to fall asleep. I heard no snoring until I fell asleep. I woke up during the night and still no snoring. I was up early morning before he was and still no snoring. I was impressed. It does say don't use if you have a stuffy nose or blocked nose. My husband has a deviated septum which decreases airflow to his nose on one side. He still used the ravens and has great success. He also enjoyed some adult beverages before bed which usually make his snoring like having a jet engine in my ear. All I heard was normal breathing. I will update if results change.

Only thing that's worked so far!
Might as well call these miracle strips. Previously, we'd tried just about everything short of a sleep study. My fiancรฉ snores really loudly, and unfortunately for us, it's the one sound that I can't sleep through no matter what. I wore sleep headphones blasting white noise over earplugs, he tried breathe-right strips--all for seemingly nothing. You name it, we've tried it. We'd pretty much resigned ourselves to sleep in separate beds, which made both of us miserable. When we googled "my spouse snores like a freight truck" these popped up in one of the search results. We figured it'd be another case of dashed hopes, but worth a shot. They arrived right on time and we were nervously eager to try them out. My fiancรฉ says the sensation took a little getting used to--especially since if it was placed wrong it would tug on his mustache. It also took a little while to find a good seal to keep whistling from happening, and he says that having to breathe through his mouth before getting to sleep took a little getting used to. They also tend to come off if there's moisture around the nostrils, so it helps to dry things off around there before you put them on. He tried a few "test snores" to see how it held up before we went to bed, and it successfully mitigated that. We went to sleep and woke up the next morning ecstatic that there was no snoring whatsoever during the night! Now we only wake up if I've stolen the blankets and need to give them back. I only wish I could find theravent in stores so we could get it more immediately should we forget that we're running low! Both of us highly recommend this product. It's amazing.

These Work!
This item really works. I think that I bought the wrong "strength". I had a horrible first night trying to get used to these. I used a hole punch the seond night and opened up the exhalation hole a bit and slept much better. I was told no snoring either night by my partner. I will continue buying these, although my next package will be the regular vs. max versions.

This product made me feel like I was suffocating ~ After 3 unsuccessful tries, the remaining 17 strips ended up in the garbage
I purchased this product in the hope that it would alleviate snoring. I never actually got that far in the process, as applying it properly isn't the most easiest of tasks. After wasting the first 2 of the package of 20, I finally decided to watch an online video showing the proper technique for placing this on your nose. After finally getting it right, I felt like I was suffocating. The manufacturer states that you should breathe through your mouth, than after you fall asleep, your slower rate of breathing will allow you to inhale through your nose as you normally would, and exhale with some degree of pressure. Well, I can tell you that from my experience this product was a total failure. After following the instructions exactly as stated, I went to bed breathing through my mouth. About an hour later, I woke up gasping for breath, as this device literally starved me of oxygen. Perhaps this works for some people, maybe those who have a death wish. Since I choose to live another day, the remaining 17 strips were placed in the trash. This is among the worst and to some degree, one of the most dangerous products that I've used in my entire life. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. If you like the feeling of being suffocated, go right ahead and purchase it, otherwise steer clear.

They work if you finagle them just so
These little things would be amazing if they actually were easy to use. As it is, these are virtually impossible to get a tight seal with. And if you donโt have a tight seal, they arenโt any good at all. Iโve resorted to using medical tape around the edges. And, I still get air leaks and then have to readjust the tape. Itโs like trying to plug holes in an inter tube after itโs been shot with porcupine quills. The darn thing leaks from here there and everywhere. After much fussing, I usually am able to get an airtight seal. The air pressure is so nice, and I wake up the next morning feeling like I can actually breathe through my nose (which most of the time feels permanently stuffed)

Great product - I would recommend this
Even though this product is not intended as a treatment for sleep apnea, I wanted to give it a try, hoping it would be similar enough to the anti-apnea prescription product made by the same company. It worked!! I was previously diagnosed with 20 wake-ups per hour, or about once every 5 minutes. I have only used this 2 nights so far, but got restful sleep both nights. Here are some lessons I've learned so far: 1) clean the area where the device goes on your with rubbing alcohol 2) shave just below your nose for a better seal (guys) 3) be sure you're ready to fall asleep - it's not fun to lay there for an hour or more with this thing on, once you fall asleep, you'll forget it's there. 4) be sure not to pinch one or both nostrils when you apply the pad - put it straight on - you still need good airflow. Update October 27, 2015: Used every night for over a week now. It gets easier to use and easier to tolerate the longer I use it - sleep is much deeper, with more dreaming. Strange, I haven't slept like this for 10 or more years. One down side to sleeping deeper, I always liked how I could tell what was going on in my house while I slept. I guess I'll have to get used to not waking up at every sound...

This is the only thing that has worked for me.
I have tried so many things to reduce my snoring. Pillows, nasal sprays/oil, custom fitted mouth guard, Breathe Right strips, side sleeping, two rounds of somnoplasty, several nasal dilators (Mute was the best), mouth tape. Some products helped, but not enough and not all the time. I have not tried chin straps, Smart Nora, or snoring exercises, mainly because I found this product. The Theravent Max strips work for me. The Snore Lab app confirms it. It does stop you from breathing out through your nose normally and you have to breath through your mouth when you first go to bed. Though trial and error, the best results come when my breathing out through the nose is blocked as much as possible. There is an exhaust hole that I try to line up with the middle of my nose so that the space between the hole and my nose is minimized. I am not sure why that works better for me, but it does. If I can breathe out too easily, my snoring is louder, although still less than without the strip. I peel off the strip and reapply until the resistance breathing out is very high. I have thought of blocking the hole entirely, but have not had to do it thus far. The strips can start to become annoying the longer you wear them. I stopped putting them on until right before bed. I do tend to take them off if I wake up during the night if there are only a couple of hours to go before waking up. The strip makes it hard to scratch your nose. I tried regular first, but max had better results. Years of snoring and trying so many expensive, uncomfortable products. Years of listening to complaints, now also quiet. My sleep quality is better. I wake up without an alarm and more refreshed. It may not work for you and you may have to play around with it until you get them to work well. Still, it is worth it if you can get them to work for you in my opinion. Good luck. Hope they work for you.

and make sure you blow your nose so that you are breathing in and out fine. Than open patch and peel back off
First of all I bought these myself, I found them after researching something to replace my Apnea machine and Apnea nose patch called Prorvent, which all need a prescription for. It takes a bit of time to get used to. This is what I do, no it is not in any paperwork! First you clean the area on your nose with an alcohol pad, and make sure you blow your nose so that you are breathing in and out fine. Than open patch and peel back off, there is no need to turn it, because the size is the same. See the small hole in the middle alien that between your nostrils, start at the top center press gently, than bottom center, press gently, you will now do the rest but do not stretch, or try to put it tight, you only want it to be a little loose so that the screen part is not tight on skin, once you have it on than just press around the edges to make sure it is secure. You will be able to breath in easily, but it will puff your nose up when you breath out, this means it is right. When you lay down to sleep try breathing in with your nose and out through your mouth. once you are asleep it allows you to also breath out through your nose, it just does it with the relaxing of your throat. no more snoring, As I said this is going to take a bit to get used to. It took about 4 nights before I finally got it comfortable. I was only getting about 2 1/2 hours of sleep per night using the Apnea equipment, now with these I get 5 to 7 hours sleep per night. I am just a regular person, I am retired and I do not work for and am not affiliated with this company in any way.
