Granted, they're thinner & smaller than what I used to buy, but only slightly. But it doesn't matter because they're not for me. Lol Still worth every penny for such a low price, especially compared to the measly 3pk you get at Walmart for $15. The cats absolutely love these scratch boards & that's literally the ONLY thing that matters. & being an 8pk, it'll last longer before I need more. Worth every penny. I highly recommend.

We own a large, 9 lbs, 7 year old female cat and bought an 8-pack of these about 6 months ago. She loves them and uses them constantly (like, ALOT). We use about one a month, and gave one to our daughter, who's two cats also love them (so I am ordering more after writing this review). Let me tell you the negatives first, and then explain why they don't matter. These are thinner (1 inch vs 1.5-2 inch typically used by other brands), about an inch smaller on all sides than your typical brands, they don't come with a "box" to use them in, and the cardboard they use is slightly softer than some brands use. Now at first you might be tempted to dismiss this product because you think this is a negative review. It's not and you SHOULD buy these, they are a good value. Here's why - the thinner size doesn't matter because the cats are only scratching as deep as their claws (and our cat hasn't come even close to clawing thru one of these, even though she's pretty aggressive on these and we flip them to use both sides before replacing them). The smaller dimensions and no box are not an issue because we just throw ours right on the floor as is - our cat sits on it (as if it were in a box) and uses it just fine. We had cut the bottom off of the shipping box to use with the pad the first time, but our cat couldn't have cared less and it was a pain to get the used pad out to replace it, so now we don't bother with it. (Honestly, I doubt your cat will care if there's a box or not, either.) The slightly softer cardboard these are made of (compared to the brand we were using before) means our cat uses one of these a month instead of one every two months; but the other brand was $15 for ONE (with a cute box to hold it) and these pads come in an 8-pack for $20. (You do the math!) One little side note... each pad comes with a tiny little packet of catnip (it's just a pinch worth).

I have two cats. One of them isn't good about sharpening her nails, but my younger male adores the scratch pads. Absoutely worth the money. They're simple, a good size, easy to move and store, and easy to clean up once they cardboard gets shredded. hey didn't have a smell, and he seems to like the rectangular shape. Before a side gets too shredded he likes to sit on top of them and watch sometimes. Having 8 of them ensures this purchases lasts a long time. I've only used two so far, because I've flipped them over to make use of both sides. Absolutely worth the price.

These scratch pads are about half the thickness of the ones I usually buy, and they're a little smaller in overall size. I had bought them to refill one of the shelves on a cat tree and they're about 2" shorter in length than what was there previously, so there's a gap, which I filled with pieces of cardboard from a box. That being said... they are sturdy enough and they do the trick, they provide a surface for cats to scratch on... and the price is right, works out to $2.50 each which is half the price of the ones I used to buy. So, make sure you read the small print and know the size before you buy. Good value overall!

There is absolutely no smell to the cat scratch pads. My cat does love the dried cat nip that comes with the pad, but I can't smell that either. Please note -- quality is there for my money and my cat loves the pads. No sense in buying thick fancy scratch pads.

Great product—gives my cat something to tear up besides my furniture! And when one is all torn up, just toss it and throw down another one!

I would not buy these again. The pads flake off bits of cardboard that have to be swept up. They are on the small side. My cats like to sleep on their scratch pad. Okay for the price, but not for me. I gave them a try.

Pretty affordable and my cat loves. Each pad comes with a little baggy of catnip as well!

Still my cat scratches the furniture, but this reduces it to two chairs only. I kept it in different boxes around the house, fixed two on the wall,and the cat loves it. Just don't use the green with it that's not catnip, I have no idea what is that..but my cat hates it. Just use with your own catnip spray or without. Mine was unscented and still the cat was intrigued.

My cat loves these and so do I as it stops him from scratching my furniture 😂 My cat has various scratching posts but nothing pleased him better than my leather sofa 😢 I spotted these and decided to give them a try... I'm so glad I did. Each scratch pad comes with a small pack of catnip, I sprinkled this on the pad and my cat instantly approved. My cat uses these pads every day and no longer scratches my furniture- win win 😁 These are actually really good value as I would say one pad lasts about 4 weeks. I let him scratch one side until its starting to break down a bit then I flip it over and let him scratch away at the other side. The only small niggle I have is when it's been used for a while pieces of cardboard come away and he trails it around the house. I would personally prefer to clean that up regularly than have a scratched sofa so I'm still happy 😊

We've had similar products before and my cat has never taken to destroying the actual box. I sweep up her mess and by the time I've put the broom away she's made another mess! I'm not sure if there's something in the cardboard but she is determined to actually destroy the box not just scratch the bottom like usual.
