Long-Time Nuwave User—The Gold Pro Is a Real Upgrade
I’ve used Nuwave induction cooktops for years, so when I needed another one, I bought the PIC Gold Pro. I like it better than my older PIC Gold. The biggest improvement is the touch control panel. My old model had plastic-covered buttons, and after years of heavy use, one eventually cracked and broke. I included photos of the old one for comparison. I much prefer the smooth touch controls on this model. This is basically my stove. I have a makeshift kitchen without a full-size range, and my husband, son and I use it constantly for meat, eggs, vegetables and everyday meals. It heats quickly, responds fast when you change settings, and we have a much harder time burning food with this than on a regular burner. My son especially likes that he can simply choose Low, Med Low, Med, Med High or High instead of figuring out exact temperatures. I also like that induction heats the pan directly. My photos show me touching the surrounding cooktop while cooking. That area stays much cooler, although the spot under the pan can still get hot from transferred heat. It’s portable too, which is perfect for my limited space. I can move it, cook wherever I have an outlet, and put it away when I need the counter back. After years of using Nuwave, I’d absolutely choose the Gold Pro over my older model. I honestly don’t miss having a full-size stove.

It works amazingly well!
We bought this after testing an induction cooktop at a friend's house and let me tell you, this does not disappoint! We have absolutely loved this product. The temperature is exact and helps keep your food at just the right heat. It heats very quickly and I am so impressed with how fast I can boil a pot of water! It takes a minute to boil water instead of your normal 3-5 minutes on a ceramic of electric stove. It's even faster than a gas stove (which has been my preference after taking a culinary class). The size is perfect for a large Dutch oven or a 12" pan. We took it camping with us and oh my goodness! It completely changed how I will camp in the future. Making meals was a breeze and I loved being able to pull it out and cook so many different things anywhere. I will say that cooking outside with a breeze does make it loose heat quickly, but when using it inside we don't have this problem. The base is very stable. I used it on a normal countertop and also on outside picnic tables as well as on top of a plastic tote and it always felt great. It doesn't move or shift but stays put. I love that the bottom does not get hot so you can use it on many surfaces. When you turn it on, you can hear a distinct fan noise, but it isn't loud or overbearing. It's noticable but not distracting. I don't mind it at all. Clean up is a breeze and wipes down really well. Even butter and grease splashes wipe down pretty easily. Overall I am very pleased with this product and I would 10/10 recommend it.

Perfect for making salsa outdoors or searing a sous vide steak
I bought this Nuwave induction cooktop specifically to cook and roast chiles for making salsa, and it has been an absolute game-changer. Anyone who's ever roasted jalapeños, serranos, or chile de arbol knows how smoky and intense it can get indoors, and this cooktop solves that problem perfectly. The cooktop is lightweight and portable, so I can easily set it up on my patio or in my backyard. It heats up incredibly fast and offers precise temperature control, which is essential for getting that perfect char on the chiles without burning them. I've used it to roast everything from jalapeños and serranos to chile de guajillo, and it handles the job beautifully. The surface is also easy to wipe clean after all the mess. Beyond making salsa, I've also discovered that it's absolutely perfect for searing a sous vide steak or salmon outdoors. The high wattage settings provide a fantastic, even heat that gives a perfect crust in just a minute or two, without smoking up the house. If you're a salsa aficionado or a sous vide fan and want to keep the smoke and spicy air out of your kitchen, this Nuwave induction cooktop is an absolute must-have. It's powerful, easy to use, and incredibly effective. I highly recommend it!

An Induction Burner is well worth the price.
This was a very good purchase. I use it almost all the time now and I haven't noticed an increase in the electric bill. The timer is very helpful. I use it to make coffee and tea, so I've replace the coffee maker with it. The temperature settings are low enough that I can use it to replace a slow cooker. The improvement over a gas stove is that it puts no fumes in the air. Also, there is and no risk of fire or at least much less risk of fire. I recommend an induction burner to everyone I know.

Don't forget to press play.
Used it for the first time. First time did not create smoke as the instructions read. Works great. Fan is a bit noisy and there is a noise when the magnets are engaged. I could barely hear the magnet but my wife said it bothered her a bit. As a 1500 watt system it heats quickly. As all induction ranges, it is amazing by not generating a lot of waste heat outside the pot/pan. To use you must turn it on then press play. I was using it outdoors today in 105 degree weather to water can some items (keeps the house cool). I could not tell if at that temp the unit stopped working or it was user error by not pressing play. Only issue is that I now need to buy an induction pressure canner as my current one is aluminum. Any recommendations would be great. Now I will be able to can summer items without heating up the house.

Durable Workhose
This is actually my 3rd NuWave 12" induction cooktop in about the last 15 years. They are absolute workhorses, used several times a day and stand up to the occasional boil-over though I suspect that is what eventually kills them (how could it not?). Powerful. Simple. Quite rugged. I do manage to kill them every several years but they truly have withstood outragous abuse. My favorite feature of this model is actually the wattage limiter, which is much more gentle on the somewhat antique wiring of an old sailboat. The new version I just doesn't have physical push buttons anymore (which makes me concerned about using it with wet fingers, idk) and has gone with fancy touchscreen-style buttons... we'll see how well they work out. Might update later, idk. Hopefuly hasn't sold out to private equity yet... Give it a try before they do! Heat output: outrageous on full wattage setting which should be pretty normal for your typical landlubber. Timer: honestly haven't used the time function but could defintely be helpful for making simple dishes like morning steel cut oats. Thoughts on material: Durable, smooth, high quality plastic. Would be nice to have the cooking surface a bit less smooth (would prefer more friction) but most kitchens don't tilt as much as mine do not an issue for most. Noise level: I mean, there's a fan that make normal fan sounds which are required to keep the electronics from getting cooked and is, I'm sure, an important aspect of their durability.

I love love LOVE this thing!! Everyone should have one.
It feels and looks very solid, and high-quality. Works beautifully. Love that you can set the exact temp, wattage, and cook time (many ovens have timers, but it's hard to find a cooktop with one)! Wattage setting allows you to set it to 1500w when it's the only high-draw appliance on the circuit, to cook super fast, or 750w when sharing the circuit with other high-draw appliances. It's also BIG... Big enough to heat up a very large pot on it! Even if you have a perfectly-functional range with a non-induction cooktop already, I swear, everyone should have at least ONE of these induction cooktops! It makes cooking pretty much *everything*--including soups, cream-of-wheat, oatmeal, etc.--much easier, and more convenient, and foods just come out better... and keeping soups, sauces, etc., warm after they're done cooking works MUCH better, because you can set an exact temp (like, say, 150° F) too keep it warm, and not worry about it boiling/drying out.

NIce unit, well made, very adjustable, good feature set at this price
This is my third inductive cooktop. The first two were another brand and both still work, but they were more basic models. I have completely switched over from my "normal" glass top kitchen stove to using the induction cooktops as they have so many advantages. After a few years of using my original unit I thought I would like something more sophisticated with more control. This unit caught my eye. I researched and found there were many happy users and considering the very reasonable cost of this unit I ordered it. There was a small learning curve as I had to get adjusted to it (expected with any new item) but soon I had worked through the controls and adjustments. There is much to like. It has three different power (watts) ratings which can be very helpful. Its very adjustable for heat and has the "sear" setting for when you really need some high heat. The timer is very programmable and can do stages, not just a simple minute timer. The top is well made and easy to clean. Its more quiet than my older units and honestly is better looking in the kitchen, not that it matters but you do look at it every day! Love it. Great value and highly adjustable. I would buy another without hesitation.

Précis au degré prêt
Appareil performant, dommage pour la prise US qui nécessite un transformateur

Becareful of the voltage required.
The voltage required by the cooktop only works in specific regions of the world (it can only take a maximum of 144V). I had to return mine since my country has a line voltage of 230V.

Una maravilla
De las mejores compras que he hecho... y fue porque eché a perder la anterior al echar demasiadas papas en una olla y se salió todo el aceite.... Pero compré una idéntica porque es muy buena.

Nuwave PIC
I have had a Nuwave for years. It finally became unusable when the push buttons wore out. I can't be without one, and this one came promptly and in good order. I am rarely unhappy with anything I order from Amazon.

Not perfect but pretty good
I have used it a few times now. It works well, the fan is quieter than the one I had before ( a model from another brand, about 75% cheaper). I hate the sound of a fan but I am not aware of a model that does not have one. It stops as soon as you stop cooking ( the fan kept running a few minutes with my previous model). For low power ( simmer), the device sends the heat with ON / OFF cycles (you can hear very very subtle clicks) but the cycles are very fast and the heat is very stable on your plate . My previous device had a cycle of 10 sec and it was impossible to do any low heat cooking or to keep your plate warm. This part is great and it opens the door to more types of usage. I used my previous model only to get something boiling very fast since at low power, with those long cycles, it was not really usable. The model is a little bulky, large diameter and thick. I knew from the measurements but still it is not a small thing. The buttons are real push buttons (they are not touch buttons as it was said in a comparison table that I saw on Amazon -- these tables are full of mistakes very often). So, the buttons are push type (a little membrane, waterproof, that pops down when you press it). Frankly, they dont seem like they will last many years. Overall, so far I like it. Not perfect but a huge step above my previous model. The stability (not necessarily the precision) of the temperature is true and this is an important factor. In other words it holds very well its temperature but if it says 200, it just means warmer than 190 and that's fine with me.
