Does it scan directly to an sd card, or does it need to be plugged into a computer?

This scans directly to my laptop. It was the easiest thing I ever set up. Then software installed quickly and easily and I was in business in a matter of minutes upon receipt of it. I always have to call for tech support when I try to connect external devices to a computer and was prepared to need to do the same with this. I was presently surprised. I wanted something in could slip in my bag and take with me. This is perfect, but is one sheet at a time, just be aware of that.

Hp laptops Does this work for HP laptops?

It works with my HP Pavilion. It was the easiest set up of software I have ever done. I usually have to call tech support, but not with this. Software loaded and I was practicing scanning in less than 10 minutes. It is only 1 page at a time, but will let you scan multiple pages individually, to create a multi page document. I love it. Very light weight also.

Can you connect to I pad .

I don't know for sure. The cable is definitely a USB port, but I'm not sure if a connector would work?

Can you scan multiple pages to 1 file?

I had to return mine because it wouldn’t connect to my internet.

I purchased this specifically for scanning receipts. Unfortunately, this scanner does not work at all with long receipts. It constantly returns a "jammed" error and makes you start over. It doesn't even output the partial scan. This also doesn't have any way to adjust its feed, and so if pages are not perfectly square, they drift sideways, even crinkling the edges. The output on these is awful and impossible to fix with HP's proprietary scanning software, which is the only way this thing works. There is a scan button on the unit itself, but I could not get it to do anything. The only way it actually scans is by pressing the scan button in the software once connected.

Oh this is the best. For a home office that doesn't have alot of room. Great set up, easy as can be. Sharp image.was looking for some exactly like this. Cost very inexpensive. Great product!
