Although you need to purchase a stand separately, this umbrella can work anywhere. I bought the stand that was included in a video with the product pictures. Adjustable height and tilt make it perfect for any space. It took only a couple of minutes to set up and provides the shade needed. Well worth the money, which was very reasonable. I could not be happier.

Super lightweight and easy to set up! LOVE the pull-apart wing closure. Rotates 360 degrees and creates shade wherever you need it. Wish it was a bit larger for our space, but the size still shades for one or two people. The color blends in and not an umbrella eye-sore on our balcony. We take it down and store it at night - its super simple to wrap up and put away.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought this for my 12’x8’ balcony. I get lots of morning/afternoon sun that was killing a couple of my plants and making it uncomfortable to enjoy my balcony in the AZ summer. We aren’t allowed to put up curtains on the balcony at our apartment so this was the next best alternative. I love that this doesn’t take up extra space on the ground by needing a base- this holds up well on the bars. It’s aesthetically pleasing, it matches perfectly with the balcony colors, the price was right and very pleased with it. I am not sure about wind or pressure during major storms so I will be sure to just close the umbrella (probably safer do that anyway.) overall it is very sturdy and not cheap looking. When I received the package I was excited to put it together. I was very confused to see the parts that came with it. It didn’t look like any of the other items I saw on the site or from the reviews which confused the heck out of me. Maybe it’s a different vendor or they updated the product design for balconies. I had to look for competitors who eventually had the same product I owned that cost more but it helped me figure out how to set this thing up! Either way, I was disappointed with what I received cause event the instructions confused the heck out of me. Eventually after about 45-50 minutes we figured out how to maneuver the device to make it work. I do recommend having power tools to make the screws tight. The screws stick out a bit from the outside but it may be to adjust to different types of balcony bar widths I’m guessing. Once this was set up my husband and I were very pleased so I do recommend getting one for your condo/ apartment!

This is a fairly durable umbrella but don't use it if winds are above 15 knots. That said the "spines" are much more durable than most umbrellas. We did have to reinforce all 4 corners to keep the end pockets intact.

This is a spectacular product with its ability to rotate 360 degrees to block sun at any angle. Unfortunately, is is too big for my small apartment balcony, but it is exaxtly the kind of sun shade I need. I was so excited to find it and now equally disappointed to have to return it. You won't be disappointed with function, form or operation Well made, easy to use. Better than an umbrella because it's adjustable!

I’ve tried 2 different bracket holders. The umbrella is cheap and flimsy. I am not happy with my purchase at all.

Oh my goodness, I spent a few years not spending much time on my balcony in the summer months in Minnesota as my place faces the south and I get a ton of sun in the summer along the Mississippi River. I finally purchased these umbrellas for my patio this year and I spend 3-6 hours on my balcony most days. They are so easy to install (I did buy the brackets to attach to my railings). I’m spending more time outside listening to tunes, watching the hummingbirds, reading in my zero gravity chair (I got this on Amazon too), and watching the world go by. This has been such a blessing to my mental health. I highly recommend these umbrellas if your soul is craving shade and the outdoors. If I could select 1000 stars, I would do that but I can only give a five star rating.

The product information states it is easy to open and close it right spaces, which is incorrect. It can only be open and closed when there is absolute nothing on the balcony, you remove from the clamp, stand in the middle of the balcony, attempt to open (which isn't easy when it's not stable) and then try to attach it to the clamp again. If you have the room, it will be a great sun blocker but definitely not meant for small spaces. I actually have a decent sized balcony, too
