Saved My Subaru and Thousands in Repair Costs
These solenoids were an absolute lifesaver for my 2015 Subaru Outback. I had the dreaded “Christmas tree” dashboard situation with nearly every warning light coming on along with several transmission-related diagnostic codes. Most shops would have wanted to replace the entire valve body, and the repair bill probably would have been more than the value of the car itself. Thankfully, these allowed me to replace just the failed lock-up solenoid instead of the whole assembly. After installation and completing the relearn/learning process, the transmission went back to shifting and running normally again. This repair literally saved me thousands of dollars and kept my 220,000-mile Outback on the road. If you’re dealing with similar Subaru CVT issues, this is definitely worth looking into before replacing the entire valve body.

Double and triple check vehicle compatibilty AND use only Subaru CVTF
Even though the Amazon Garage says it doesn't fit my Forester XT i had multiple conformations that it did fit my CVT. Install, of course, is complicated since Subaru doesn't want DIY taking valve body's out. It's important to note that if attempting this DIY use only Subaru or Indemitsu CVT Fluid (Indemitsu makes the Subaru brand) and not any other brand. There are some compatibility issues with other brands. Once installed this solenoid behaved itself right away and allowed codes to be cleared without too much fanfare. So far so good.

LIKE...A...CHARM!
Installed this today and it worked like a charm. Very easy job for anybody with minimal mechanical experience...if you've done a brake job, you can replace this solenoid. It looked exactly the same as the original and fit perfectly. Absolutely incredible value compared to $3000 job by Subaru or $1800 for the entire valve body with solenoids from Subaru. If I observe any problems, I will definitely update this review with details. So, if you don't see an update, then it's still working with no problems.

Do not recommend
I had gotten this in September it was working for a little bit, and now the lights keep coming on and I have to keep resetting my computer. Guess I'm going to have to order the part from a parts store and get it put in again when it gets a little warmer out.

Works on earlier models with the TR690 transmission
Worked perfect in my 2011 Legacy with the first gen TR690 transmission. Unlike what amazon, dorman, and other websites say; this will work in first gen TR690's for the up, down, and lock up solenoids. See included pictures of the ATSG service bulletin that backs up what I am saying. Also you do not have to solder the wires like the bulletin says, you can take off the plastic shield and unplug wires from the spade terminals. Don't forget to reuse the rubber seal/grommet that is around your original solenoid as the replacement dorman does not include one.

WORKS ON A 2014-2018 FORESTER 2.5i
WORKS!!!! TR580 on a 2015 SJ Forester threw a P2764 code on me. Followed a video from Mr. Subaru on the entire valve body replacement, the video from Dorman on this part, and another from Doing Stuff With Dylan. Make sure to use the instructions on the QR code in the package for torque specs on the solenoid and valve body itself (Subaru doesn't provide this info in the service manual). Took a few hours on a weekend afternoon with a friend. Only added under half a quart of fluid from the top but will do a full drain and fill soon (don't need to if you don't have the tool as per Mr. Subaru). 100% worth it vs. the $1,500-$2,000 that Subaru dealers want. Revived my beautiful stallion.

Still working after four months for thousands less than the dealer.
I diagnosed my wife's subaru with a bad lock up solenoid. The dealer will only sell the entire control module ($2K), not the individual solenoid. The job removing the control module, replacing the solenoid, and putting everything back together isn't too bad for a reasonably competent shade tree mechanic with some tools and for thousands less. It fits like the original but obviously not as well built as the original it replaced (4 stars vs 5), but is still working four months later (others have stated they can fail after a few months, we'll see). In the interim I fixed the original solenoid in case this one fails prematurely. Would recommend for someone handy, probably not a job for a beginner.

Holy smoke my guys!! This is great. What a money saver. It took me 2.5 hours to do this in my driveway with the help of a YouTube video. They wanted thousands to replace my torque converter but I was able to replace this and saved all that glorious cash!!!! Way to go Doorman!!! New customer for everything I need now

スバルCVTのロックアップソレノイド修理に使えます。 (TR580、TR690ミッション共通) C型のゴムが付属しないので、元々ついているものを再使用しました。 (TR580はゴムが元々ない?) 中華ソレノイドが1.5万キロしか持たなかったので、こちらに変えてみました。 今のところ問題なく動いていますが、今後問題があれば追記します。
