WBASIN01C Traditional Basin Waste with Porcelain Plug for Basins with Overflow

This is a nice quality part that I used to replace an old plastic basin waste. The instruction sheet is a little misleading as it shows a center screw to hold a top piece in place .. this is not applicable, as the item is a single piece and has no center screw or separate top. It is supplied with two rubber washers - a thin one and a much thicker one. The instruction leaflet suggests that the thicker one should be used inside of the basin, but I found that this makes it sit a little proud, so I fitted just the thinner rubber washer inside the basin with a nylon basin washer and some "Plumbers Mait" underneath. Seams to seal fine this way.

Matches our Bristan traditional taps and just finishes off the bathroom perfectly. Expensive, you might think 🤔 Well, you gets what you pay for, quality comes at a price. Definitely recommend.

Bought one of these when I had to replace the bathroom sink so when it came to decorate/update the downstairs loo it was a no brainer to purchase another. These are top quality items and as such the price is very impressive. Try buying a brass back nut for the drain hole fitting and look at the price of it - they are expensive! This includes a brass back nut - not a cheap plastic one. The screw thread might have a slight roughness in places but this is not an exposed area once fitted but be careful when touching during fitting - I think this is a byproduct of the chrome plating process as the visible plug hole is beautifully chromed and this is part of the same molding.

Replaced an old sink waste that had lost all its chrome plating. Amazing difference to appearance of wash basin. Care needed when fitting, to get the waste outlet centred in hole in wash basin. If replacing taps at same time it is easiest to remove basin from wall so that it can be upturned to fit the large nut on to threaded part of outlet. Anyone with reasonable skill and dexterity should cope.

A really attractive plug set - can a plug be cute? This is! - Really pleased to have changed my plug for this one.

This is one of the best things about my re-vamped bathroom! It looks really classy. It is very heavy and great quality.
