So good I'm buying a 2nd one for camp!
This is a great little vacuum cleaner. I use it primarily in the hard floor kitchen and on the carpeted stairs, but it's great for a quick cleaning on all the floors. It's light weight, easy to manipulate and has a lot of suction power for its little size with a 2.0 amp motor. The last vacuum I bought was an Oreck, which came with a little hand-held vac. That was over 10 years ago and my back just can't take carrying around the handheld anymore. I still use the larger one for my main vacuum. This little one has really impressed me. It does a much better job on my stairs than my little Oreck, since it has a brush roll and a setting for carpets, it picks up so much more! And did I mention how light it is? It tucks neatly into the closet and even has a cord storage on the handle. The design is simple, but effective. One button to turn on & change from hard floors to carpets, one button to release cup, and one to remove the handle for the handheld option. The only downfall is the electric cord is just 15', but all the other benefits make up for it, tenfold. In fact, its so awesome, I'll be buying a second one for our camper.

This Vaccuum is the most amazing of its kind!
I bought this from Walmart back in August 2016. Liked it so much I bought a 2nd one in November 2016. And a third from Amazon for my dad's beach house in March 2018 (He loves it!). One from 2016 broke from user error. Not sure what they did. I think the rubber came off. It's an important piece. Anywho my original one chugs on and it's taken on a lot of hard use. 3 kids. 3 cats. A bunny. My floors are constantly a nightmare. I had a Hoover pet. I guess technically I still do, but since I bought it last Black Friday it's literally caput on me like 3 times. It's had to be completely taken apart and hose unclogged, got frustrated and broke the handle off by accident where it dumps from. My Eureka has fantastic suction, even when the brush collects enough fluff and string to build a complete bird's nest the brush keeps spinning so when I do get around to picking the crap out it's pretty full up, I just don't notice right away because the performance is so flawless. It is a Quick* up so after one bad room you need to empty and keep on. Obviously if the container is full it won't be able to continue picking up. Also I rinse mine at the end of using, not each time I dump it, but when I've vaccumed everything I wanted I rinse the filter and container and let it sit out to dry. It's lasted me over 3 years now and the one with all the parts intact works just as good as the day I got it. Not bad for under $30.. Especially when I wasted over $100 on a stupid full size that couldn't even make it half way though one year! So give that some thought. You could have 3-4 of these or one sh*tty full size. One Eureka for each level of your house. Though one should probably be that new blaze since this one doesn't have a crevice tool and can't get the stuff between the carpet & wall. So since writing my original review my cousin had asked me recommendations for a small vaccuum and I immediately recommended this and her and her husband loved it so much it caught on with my mom and she just recently bought one too. It looks like this amazing little stick vaccuum has become a family affair!

Cord too short, otherwise great
I like to vacuum every day. Country house! I have a few area rugs, but otherwise it is all hardwood/linoleum. This is by far the best pick up vacuum I have EVER used on bare floors. Very nice on the edges too, which is an issue. I would give it a five stars across the board, except that the cord is too short, although the cord does appear to be high quality. I will use it with a high end extension cord. Very light and very functional, great for under bed/other furniture. Head goes flat so it's easy to get anywhere. Works quite well as a hand vac too. On these types of vacuums, you have to brush off the dust filter after each use. For some that might be an irritant, so be warned. Also, if you buy the vacuum you will want to buy extra filters for it. The filter can be washed (very gently), but inevitably will wear (but the filtration is excellent). For me, the extra daily minute spent brushing off the filter is nothing compared with the extra ten minutes spent re-vacuuming to pick up the stuff kicked around instead of picked up with my current Eureka. It's surprisingly hard to find a vacuum that is excellent on bare floors.

Best small vacuum on the market.
In spite of this very reasonable price this is not a crappy stick vacuum like you would buy from dirt devil. This is a very serious light duty vacuum. This is the ONLY light duty vacuum cleaner you should ever buy if you have pets.It is lightweight picks up as much as many large vacuums. The powered brush roll is fantastic. The dust cup is red clear heavy duty semi flexible polycarbonate not cheap hard plexiglass.Meaning it will not shatter from age or a minor drop. The cord is maddening because it has no place on the handle to secure it so you have to hold it. The handle needs to have a spot of school glue in the threads during assembly or the screw will back out. My first quick up, the yellow model, lasted 10 years of daily use.Clean the dust cup every time, make sure the brush is cleaned of hair every time. Wash out the filter with warm soapy water and a sprinkle of baking soda to kill any odors, once a month and be sure it is dry before putting it back in and you are good to go. This one is really improved over the old clear quickups as it has a solid heavy black cover over the brushroll so you don't have to look at the ugly scratched plexiglass on it. t is also more balanced so it does not rattle when it runs. This is absolutely NOT a wet vacuum. As with all inline turbine motors running it across wet areas will burn out the motor. This is the traditional heavy duty Eureka inline turbine. Making sure it is dumped every time decreases the chances of it over heating and going out before it's time.Cleaning the brushroll also makes sure that your life time belt is not over taxed or the roller motor made to burn out. Rule of law in lower priced cleaners Eureka for vacuums, you pay a small amount more up front but it lasts 100 percent longer. And for anything wet like carpet deep cleaners buy only Bissel. NEVER buy ANYTHING cordless.

This is not at all a replacement for a compact vacuum
I bought this to vacuum a large area rug, a welcome mat, and tile floor. It's light and has medium suction power, certainly not powerful enough for shag or long carpet fibers, but good for low-pile. Works well on tile. It also lays ALL THE WAY DOWN FLAT to vacuum under beds and couches really easily. Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues, too. Brushroll: It exists. I have a pekingese with 1"-long hair, a long-haired boyfriend, and my own long hair. The flimsy brushroll is completely overwhelmed by this workload. An absolute tangle of hair is hopelessly wrapped around the brush after every bi-weekly vacuuming. It needs to be cut out, but this is difficult because the roll moves up and down when the vacuum is off, and the bristles themselves are the same width of hair. These bristles get caught in the hair and can be easily mistaken for hair while cutting. Worse, the brushroll becomes quickly useless with so much hair wrapped up, and is no longer able to clean carpets. The Handle: The handle is attached to the unit with a two-piece bolt. Within two uses, the pieces pulled apart and I assume I must have sucked up one of the pieces because now it's gone and the bolt is useless. I have had to tape the handle together, which is less than optimal. All over a $.03 bolt. The Dustbuster: I didn't know that the dust-buster part of this, which can be used alone without the stick, had the 8" head still attached. Without a "nose" or "nozzle" you can't really target the flow. So no sucking up around base boards, no cleaning the edges of the walls and ceilings. On the upside, this 8" head is PERFECT for cleaning curtains, and I had a lot of fun doing that. Otherwise, though, it's completely useless. The Dust Bin: Hair and dirt wrap around the filter and need to be pulled off manually or smacked against the trash can to get off. Neither is a perfect solution. I hate having to touch the dirt when I'm done cleaning, and it happens every time. Like the brush roll, when this becomes clogged, the unit stops working well. This is despite the dustbin not actually being full, just that hair is so thickly trapped around the filter. Wow, terrible design. Noise: Exactly as loud as my compact stand-up. Considering this is a glorified dust buster with a stick on the back, I expected it to work a lot better. Since my stick is currently taped on, I probably could have done the same thing for less on my own! This is not at all a replacement for a compact vacuum, and falls more into the "sun room sweeper" or "patio vacuum" territory.

Eureka Quick-UP Bagless Stick Vacuum with Motorized Brush Roll, 169H, Red EUREKA
This machine is small, light to carry, and fantastic. I have a long-haired cat, and when I used this little fellow for the first time , there wasn't any fur left on my chairs. Being that it is 2 in 1, you can do your chairs with the hand vac and then do your carpet or floors with the vacuum. It is so light to carry, and it stands up by itself--no more leaning against a wall or door. For the price, you cannot go wrong. I have used very expensive vacuums in the past, and there is no comparison. I did a lot of research before I purchased this vacuum, and I have to agreee with others who commented on it, that it is the best for the price. When I vacuumed my carpet, I was amazed at the amount of dirt that it took out of the carpet. As a matter of fact, I now love to vacuum. Before, I would have to lug some heavy machine around and always have to buy bags. Now, I have this cute little vacuum that is bagless and easy to use and does a better job. The only con is a short cord. But, use an extension cord and you will be okay. I highly recommend it . A great buy for the price. Definitely would purchase it again

Awesome Eureka Portable Now w 110volts!
I've gone through 2 of the earlier cordless 6v models of these and always loved their design - long removable handle, flat-on-floor positioning, nice roller brush, easy to clean and empty, very light. They picked up great and I could count on 10-15 minutes full power. Each one lasted 8 yrs or more, each with a couple of battery replacements. Eventually the mechanics just wore out. I got tons of use out of them. So I was pretty disappointed when I discovered they were corded now. But that just added the huge advantage of 110v power. This thing really sucks (:>)! No time limits, and if you're just working less than a few hundred square feet, you could probably make it you lone vacuum cleaner. I think if you tried that for bigger spaces it might wear out a lot sooner. It's still designed for small, portable emergency-spill type jobs. So now I have all the advantages of the original design plus 110v power, and no more batteries or charging. But what about the cord - did that take away all the advantages of portability and instant access? To fix that, I bought 50ft ext cord just for the Eureka and set it up in the most-central closet space in the house. Cord remains loosely coiled on closet floor, socket is right outside in hall. When the cord is kept properly in large coils, it takes about 90s to plug it in and unwind it in the hallway, and maybe 2 min to wind it back in. Awesome set up. Be sure to empty the basket every time. And be careful and deliberate when putting it back in to get the seal properly lined up. And check and oil the rollers once in a while. And when using - use it GENTLY. If you try to swing and bang this thing around like a 35 pound Hoover Windtunnel, yeah, it's probably going to break. Remember, it's gotta big motor now, but it's still for small jobs.

Lot's of suction
This is a powerhouse little vacuum. It works great on all types of flooring since I can turn the motorized brush on or off. On low-pile and berber carpet, the vacuum works great, however, if you have deep-pile/thick carpet, you might want to look elsewhere. The problem, you might ask, is the suction power the vacuum has. Even though it's lightweight, it's difficult to push forward on thick carpet due to its suction power. Another thing that may be a concern for some people, is the dust-cup doesn't seal tight, so a little dust will coat the outside of the container that holds the dust. Of course, it's a low-priced vacuum. so I didn't expect it to have a tight dust seal. For the price, it's a steal.

okay vacuum
The vacuum is great for picking up small things and doing a light cleaning of a area. Would still need a more heavy duty vacuum for a good clean.
