Single use expensive toy
Piece of crap. Bought less than 2 years ago. Did its jobs the first summer. Although not improseed but its automation (always had to stay nearby and superwise) and quality of work on non-rectangular windows (there are some limitations). But it made recntangular windows uniformly clean, no gaps and no start or end visual markers. Not sure if we used it the next summer. If we did, maybe a little. Now attempted to use it again. Connected: it just says 'Please connect to power source' again and again. From what I learned in internet, battery probably died. It seems it was a single use toy for $350+. Likely, we could hire a professional for this single time use, and save our own time.

Truly solid, autonomous, and superb customer care DESPITE NO LONGER BEING UNDER WARRANTY!
I have the Ecovacs Winbot W1 (I understand that there is now a W2 version out?). This product does exactly what it says - and then some. Connection with the app (I use an iPhone) was exceedingly easy, flawless, and almost instantaneous. The app can control anything and everything that this product does. And what does it do? I read many reviews and there are so many superlatives used that it seems to deaden the senses to their usage and makes me wonder about their authenticity. Nevertheless and with that having been said, this cleans our glass windows, doors, and glass porch guardrails/walls a) well to very well (8 or 9 on a 1-10 scale, 10 being perfectly spotless and strapless including the corners); b) automatically and unattended more than 90% of the time (every blue moon it gets stuck and requires my (almost always just) remote attention, and c) in a reasonably short amount of time (one side of a 2 meter by 1 meter glass door, 2 passes over the entire surface in roughly 10 or so minutes). Once one is familiar with it, setting it up is exceptionally easy to do, and using it entails: a) plugging it in (5 seconds); b) adding water to the sprayer (30 seconds); c) attaching the tether (5 seconds); d) placing it against the surface to be cleaned (3 seconds); and e) pressing one button (zero seconds) - and walking away. That's it. It is hard to find something about it NOT to like. When recently (due likely to a fault of my own) I needed some assistance/service help from the company, they were amazingly rapid in their review of my issue (a few hours) and then addressed my concerns so very very far above and beyond the call of duty or industry standard for customer support" - especially as this issue arose after the warranty had long since expired. I cannot find enough positive things to say about the product as well as the company. I want to ensure that I clarify that I have NO financial - or any other - "relationship" of any kind with Ecovacs, I paid full retail for the product which I purchased from Amazon, and I use this device personally in my home. I can't count the number of items I have reviewed in my life - but this device and especially this company deserve special positive attention and note. Thank you Ecovacs, I had not heard about you two years ago but today I am the one making sure others hear about you. Well done!

Unserviceable battery will leave you with a brick
Battery failure will leave you with a $400 brick. Don’t buy. Poor design with a hardwired, unserviceable battery. When the battery dies after sitting a few months, it will fail to charge, and you will get the error to connect to AC power, even with it plugged in. The unit will not run. This is not a big deal, if the battery was replaceable, but it is not. It’s hardwired and in a sealed box. What a disappointment. When it worked, it worked great, but this design leaves you with a ticking time bomb.

Robot Window Cleaner
Having had a positive experience with the floor vacuum and mopper from the same company, I decided to invest in their robot window cleaner. Here’s my detailed experience with the product: Initial Experience: My first unit, unfortunately, had some issues and never worked despite my efforts to troubleshoot for 30 minutes. This was disappointing, but I decided to give it another shot and ordered a second unit. Second Unit and Setup: The second unit arrived the next day. I carefully removed just the robot cleaner from the box and it worked immediately. Since everything else in the box was undisturbed, I repacked the first unit, initiated a return, and explained the issue. The return process was straightforward and hassle-free. Performance: I have a lot of windows in my home, many of which hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. This little robot got to work right away and performed admirably. The cleaner is simple to use, requiring only that you move it from window to window. I found it convenient to work on other tasks that I could pause frequently while the robot cleaned each window. Efficiency and Effectiveness: The robot window cleaner does a fantastic job, leaving the windows spotless. It has significantly reduced the time and effort I used to spend on window cleaning. The ease of use and effectiveness make it a standout product. Overall Satisfaction: Despite the initial hiccup with the first unit, I am very pleased with my purchase. The second unit works flawlessly, and the convenience it provides is invaluable. This robot window cleaner has become an essential tool in maintaining my home, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Conclusion: If you’re looking for a reliable and efficient way to clean your windows, this robot window cleaner is an excellent choice. It’s simple to use, does a great job, and allows you to multitask while it works. I highly recommend it, especially if you have numerous windows that need regular cleaning.

My Windows are Finally Clean!
I got this as there are a couple of near impossible to clean windows in my house. (The house dangles over a ravine, so getting the outside of the ravine facing windows is...not very doable for those who value their lives.) Over time, they've gotten pretty grimy, so I got this, hoping it would work. And it did! The machine is pretty easy to use. Charge it a bit (it has an extra battery just in case the main power dies, so it doesn't go flying off a window), plug it in, tie it's teather to something, then stick it on a window and hit the on button. Then off it goes, rolling across the window and cleaning everything in its path. So easy to use and a great gizmo if you have hard (or impossible) to clean windows. I did knock off a star as the machine seems to get "confused" a lot and sort of not clean the entire window. This isn't a huge problem as I was able to just run it again, but kind of annoying. It also sometimes "lost suction power" and refused to move (at which point I had to haul it across the window by tugging on its tether and power cord), and it also sometimes refused to return to its starting point for some reason (which again necessitated me dragging it over). It also annoyingly kept bugging me to install its app...even after I'd done so. (Why, machine, why?) But it ran without it being installed so....IDK. But it works. Crazy as it seems, it really works. My windows now are clean, which is something I never thought I'd be able to do. So very much recommended if you have hard/impossible to clean windows. This little gadget does what it says it'll do.

Didn't work on my outside windows.
I really wanted this to work. It is well-made except for the software that cannot detect low round plastic window frames that are generally on the portion of a slider that sits in the middle of the window. Buggers! After all of the variants of these battery powered bots you would think some bright engineer would have figured this out by now. What happens is the bot rides over the low frame and stops. This is a problem if you can't reach it. It cleaned the window pretty well. I had to clean it twice but I expected to do that. This will be a great tool for my kind of windows when someone gets a new version of this software figured out to "read" the shorter frames. I had to return it.

W1 Pro Known Defect Discovered
I bought the Ecovacs W1 Pro a couple weeks ago. Today, I had time to set it up. After following the instructions for setting it up, the device kept displaying an error that it needed to be plugged in an electrical outlet. Thinking the battery hadn't finished charging, I charged it for at least 5 hours. It kept displaying the same error. Searches on the internet kept bringing up solutions of replacing the battery which seemed to be a complicated process since the factory battery was hardwired in its place. So the battery seemed to be the culprit. I finally called Ecovacs. Here's where I would like to give 5 stars because the Ecovacs customer service department answered promptly and after a short description of the problem, they told me that this was a known manufacture's problem. The Ecovacs company had discontinued the product over three years ago. Customer service was astounded that Amazon was still selling this unit. I can't be certain that every unit will have this problem. And I wish mine was exempt because I really liked this product by its description and model appearance. However, I am displeased that I didn't discover this issue before buying it. Oh, 5 stars for the Amazon return efficiency. 1 star for this product itself and 1 star for Amazon still carrying it for active sale with this known problem.

Does not work if your windows have a lip
I really wanted to love this window vacuum. Made by a reliable brand, attractive, packaged very well, and appears to be a step above the countless other window vacuums you seem on Amazon. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me (or at least not for my windows). It suctions very well to the glass, and the software seems to be pretty solid. Great app and the window robot is pretty methodical about it cleaning path. Everything was going great until the Winbot reached the bottom of my window and tried to turn to realignt itself. The lip of my window lifted the edge of the robot (much like prying up the edge of a suction cup), and bam! ... Winbot goes down! I tried on multiple windows and it falls off the window at the exact same point in the routine. It is fine with the top and side edges of my windows (with the lips), but the bottom one always makes it lose its suction. Obviously defeats the purpose of having the robot if I have to babysit it to catch it when it falls. This is probably the best window cleaning robot on the market so far (I've tried 4) but it's only going to work for you if the edges of your window do not have a lip. Hopefully Ecovacs addresses in the next iteration of winbot. I suspect a software change (i.e. altering the cleaning path) might fix it too.
