GreenPan Elite 4-Square Waffle Maker, Ceramic Nonstick Plates, Cream White

I have tested this waffle maker making Belgian Waffles, Regular Waffles and Liege Waffles. There is a little learning curve in the sense you need to decide how crisp you want the waffles and how dark. All the waffles turned out amazing. The Liege waffle was pure perfection. Cleanup was super easy. This waffle maker is nonstick and nothing sticks. After each use I wash it in soapy water and rinse. It is so easy to clean, I would not subject the plates to the dishwasher. Make sure you use regular vegetable oil and not Pam and those aerosol sprays will ruin a nonstick surface. I found I needed hardly any oil to prep the grates and after the first waffle I didn't grease it again and they all released beautifully. I was nervous spending so much money on this waffle maker, but it is worth every penny. I also like the fact there are no harsh chemicals. It is big, so keep that in mind. Mine sits on the countertop, but I do make waffles pretty frequently. Highly recommend.

When this machine works it's excellent and makes amazing waffles. You can tell the heating element works well and heats up evenly. But the operation is confusing. Cycling through waffle kinds (Belgian, Classic etc) is a knob but cycling through texture is a button. It beeps once warm up is done but doesn't give you time to pour the batter, it just waits a moment and starts the timer. If you push the start/stop button at this time, it'll turn off and when you turn it on again, it'll start the preheat cycle again. Preheat seems to be time-based rather than a thermostat that checks when the temp is ready. My unit also seems to have a defect. Sometimes the display won't turn on until the unit is hot (a full preheat cycle). I have to push buttons and go from memory because the screen is off. I contacted customer service in the hopes they would work with me but their reply was "just return to Amazon". I'm going to keep it and avoid the hassle, as I've learned to work around these quirks. At this price point I expected more from it.

This waffle maker was a total hit for our Easter brunch! We hosted a large group, and it kept up effortlessly making plenty of waffles quickly and consistently. It’s super easy to use, every waffle came out perfect, and cleanup was a breeze. Highly recommend! Several of our guests were so impressed they’re now buying one too!

We are waffle fanatics in this house and have been through SO many waffle irons looking for a quality one that would last. This is the one! Totally worth the high price. The plates seem like they will last, clean up is easy, and the waffle iron produces crisp, evenly brown waffles that taste amazing.

Initially so happy to have found a waffle iron with removable plates, without poisonous anti-stick stuff, but ceramic coating instead, for "classic" (not so deep as Belgian) waffles. I bought several other ceramic waffle irons in the past, but none worked really well. This one worked great! Until... after using it just 6 times, I was about to pour batter onto the plate, when the sizzling searingly hot top plate dropped from the open lid, barely missing my hand, falling down with a loud bang on my kitchen table! I had securely clicked the plate in place on the day I received the wafflemaker and had used it fine until then. After it had cooled down, the plate would no longer stay put in the lid, no matter what I tried. I then tried the other set of plates (the Belgian ones) but these had the same issue. The plate appeared to click in place, but one second after opening the lid the plate came loose again. I inspected it further, and it turned out the design to keep the plate in place is a bad design: It relies on a tiny L shaped piece of metal in the lid, that is supposed to move aside and then click behind the clip on the back of the plate. That L shape is not sturdy enough. It wont withstand the force to push a plate in place as indicated by the manual. Instead it was bend inwards, so it wont grip the clip of the plate anymore. I recalled a retail store had a showmodel, that also had a plate that didn't stay in place, but I attributed that to being misused by many customers playing around with it. Well, was I wrong! I clicked the plate in place only ONCE, and that was seemingly enough to bend the metal hook in the lid. OR maybe it was never properly created in the first place. A $250 - $300 appliance! I'd expected it to be better designed than this. See pictures to further clarify. My quest for the perfect waffle maker unfortunately continues...

I’ve been using using this waffle iron every weekend for months now, and every time it makes me want to pull my hair out. It has so many safety features it can’t cook the waffles. In order for it to sense that there is batter on the pan, you have to put so much batter on it that it presses out the sides. If you don’t, it automatically shuts off while you’re trying to cook the waffles. Once the pan is preheated, you had better slap the batter on there right away, because it seems the window before it automatically senses that there is no batter and shuts off is pretty small. There is no indication that the heater turned off on the display, so you find out when you open the pan and there’s a half-cooked sticky mess inside. The timer not turning on is one indication that the heater might turn off, but sometimes it does cook smaller batches that are too small to activate the timer. Its saving grace is that after you deal with these problems for the first two batches it seems to find its groove and cook the remaining batches without any issues, and despite these issues the waffles don’t stick. If you definitely want an electric waffle iron, I would recommend getting one without these automatic features.

Absolutely worth the money! I have waited to purchase this for about 1.5-2 years unsure if I wanted to pay that much for a waffle pan. However, I have kids that love a big weekend breakfast and have been asking for waffles for forever. Other waffle makers I have bought in the past have a horrible metallic taste left over from all the chemicals, so much so that I had to throw them out. Love that Green Pan is PFAS free and there is no nasty taste! Just perfectly cooked waffles! 10/10 in my book!
