I would buy a larger amount.
This product tastes so good. I would love to purchase, at a discount of course, 2 to 3 lbs.

Coffee for mushroom enthusiasts
I am new to this mushroom-based coffee alternative beverage. My experience likely is more relevant to people who are trying out this type of beverage for the first time. Let’s face it that it is not coffee. It does not have the aroma of coffee. I like to hand grind coffee in the morning because the aroma of coffee is an important appeal of drinking coffee, for me. Without the olfactory enjoyment, the rationale for drinking this concoction is mostly nutritional. My first sip of this “coffee” turned out better than I expected. It has a strong “smoky” flavor but not much of a chocolaty flavor. I could detect a bit of black pepper and cloves. Subsequently, I’m becoming more used to its flavors. After a few times, I’d say that it tastes like coffee with some spices. My personal experience is that it tastes better when hot. Once the drink cools down, the tastes of spices, such as black pepper, cardamom and cloves, really stand out. I have not tried to add anything else to the coffee because I prefer to drink black coffee anyway. I do think that this powder could be used in some asian meat dishes where this combination of spices are frequently used, provided that the nutritional benefits of the mushrooms are not impacted. There are a lot of products in this category. Some scientific research appears to support some of the anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-cancer properties of these mushrooms. The price of this product, considering its “organic, no filler” claim, is decent.

Delicious!
Nicely spiced chai with earthy mushroom tones. I enjoy a cup every morning. I add sugar and milk, hope that doesn't over ride the mushroom health benefits.

I didn't care for this mushroom chai on its own. It tasted a bit too bitter for me taste buds. I added some coconut powder and a bit more chai spice to give it more depth. I next added some sweetness (without adding in sugar) by adding a tsp of monk fruit to sweeten it up. This made it taste more to liking and I enjoyed it then. I had originally given this coffee a worse review, which prompted the company to reach out to me to ask me for feedback and they even offered me a refund. That impressed me and inspired me to revamp my review.

Not for me
I'm new to mushroom beverages, but I love to try new products, so I approached this with an open mind. I love chai lattes, and was hopeful that the strong spices in the chai would overpower any possible mushroom flavor. I was right....and wrong. I immediately got a strong earthy scent and flavor from this mushroom chai latte powder. Second sip I got an overpowering ginger flavor. I did not get any other flavors on the third sip. By the fourth, I wanted to gaga and was forced to abort the mission. I am not a fan of ginger in beverages, whether kombucha or teas, so I honestly think that was the bigger problem for me than it being a mushroom powder mix. It's not for me, but if you like a strong ginger, earthy flavor, it may work for you.

Horrible taste
I completely agree with the reviewers above who complained about the taste. It’s horrible! I don’t know that I know how to describe it exactly but it’s very earthy and has no hint of natural sweetness to it at all. I was trying to find something very similar to Inner Elevate and Eco Taste’s Mushroom chais as those are both really really good. And I was hoping this would be similar because it’s at a better price point. Again, I was wrong. It’s worth it to pay the almost $30 for the Inner Elevate or the Eco Taste. It’s definitely one of those situations where you get what you pay for.
